I like yesterday everyone was complaining Taylor and Williamson were batting too slow.

Not really. Our top order chokes when it matters in big games. It is just reality. Kohli has scores of 9, 1 and 1 in the last 3 WC semis including this. Rohit rarely steps up in big games especially against quality bowling. And that middle order is in it's worst state since the dark 90's era. If you get Kohli and Rohit out early, you win the game. Predictable and expected.
Really hope England win tomorrow so I don't have to see Australia breezing through another WC final.

Well England have reduced Australia to 51-3 at the moment.
Let's see how Australia's middle order recover now.

They look comfy as fuck now
A Smith century looks ominous
Also how good is Carey been for Australia ? Breakout star of the world cup for sure.

If England don't chase 224 today, they're never winning a world cup again
@Jay @RG
Thoroughly enjoyed the bowling performance tbh. And it would be a much better spectacle if England made the final instead of Australia.

I fancy Australia if they get 3 wickets before England reach 100

Re: "The Gentleman's game"- Cricket
On the contrary, if England don't lose any wicket or at most lose one wicket in the first 10 overs, it is game over tbh.
They would have a kept a close eye on what happened yesterday. I honestly don't see England collapsing this time round.

Did not expect that at all. I've bitched plenty during this tournament, but England in the last three games (vs Aus, NZ and India) have been superb.
Jason Roy's return has changed everything. What a player he is atm.
New Zealand will be extra tough at Lords with the slope favouring their bowling, but we have such good momentum now that I have to be confident on a win.
It's cool that there'll be a first time winner regardless, though.

I'm just curious about one thing though.
Potentially a World Cup and an Ashes series win in one summer. Wonder how big of a deal that would be ?
I mean, obviously football world cup is the holy grail but i reckon this would be pretty special for a country that haven't won that many 'mass sports' international tournaments in recent history... If I remember correctly, you won a Rugby world cup in 2004 but nothing since then ?

Re: "The Gentleman's game"- Cricket
The Ashes aren't as big a deal to the country as a whole, but the World Cup would be, especially as the final is being aired on free TV. In terms of men's sports, the last World Cup win the T20 World Cup in 2011, and then the Rugby World Cup in 2003. So yeah, we've not had a lot of international success.
Cricket falls behind football and rugby in popularity, though, so I can't imagine any win being celebrated for that long. At my work for example, I've had colleagues follow the Women's World cup and get really invested in that, but I'm the only one who gives a damn about the cricket.
For cricket fans here, though, this summer could be unprecedented. We're basically watching the best England side there's ever been regardless of if they win the WC or not. Toss on an Ashes series win on top of that and you're looking at something historic that probably won't be repeated for decades.

LADSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
ffs everyone was following the match at work. Every Australian wicket being celebrated lmao.
Roy is such a massive difference. He has to play the ashes too.
The middle order is the best in the world by far.
Fully confident we can beat NZ.

Will definitely be the best year of cricket for England ever
