I wouldn’t say no to Sanches, but to be fair, if we’re going to judge our transfer targets based on their Euro performances, selling Xhaka for 15M appears to be the mistake of the century

Seems we're about to sign Nuno Tavares from Benfica for 7m rising to 8.5m with add-ons.

I know little about him, apart from him being an offensive left back. Benfica fans and people who watch Portuguese seem to agree he's crap, though. And a weirdo who makes out with his dog.

Never judge until he plays for us of course but a Portuguese team selling a young player for cheap does make you suspicious.

Apparently he's quick and has a decent cross so maybe he can chip in with a few assists.

Saw some of those comments by benfica and it looks like we are signing a young Andre Santos minus the humble character.

Let's see how he turns up. The good thing is that he is 20 so he can improve. Bad thing is that he might need to play a fair bit due to how injury prone Tierney is.

Tavares has flown to London for his medical. Seems pretty much done.

Saliba is joining Marseille on loan apparently. Which suggests White must be close to being done as well.

Some positive signs about our interest in Locatelli, but it seems he really wants to move to Juventus.

...and that's pretty much it for new signings so far. Nothing on a right back yet and things have gone quiet on a new no. 10 now that Odegaard is staying with Madrid. Reportedly we want another striker as well but apart from Isak it's again been very quiet.

As far as outgoings go, it's still Xhaka > Roma and Guendouzi > Marseille. It's gone quiet on Leno, Kolasinac, Torreira and Willian. Nothing on Lacazette. There's been talk of Nelson and Nketiah getting new deals to protect their value but again, quiet at the moment.

Still waiting for Smith Rowe to sign a new deal.

I don't think that would have been realistic to hope for. Tierney is one of the best LBs in the world, and anyone better would surely have cost us a significant amount of money. Getting a backup is the most sensible thing to do, and someone who is young and explosive is logical in general as opposed to an older veteran who will retain no value when his time here is done. Hopefully he learns from a responsible, hard worker like Tierney and becomes a reliable option in time.

Not because he isn't good, but between him for 60m+ on top 200k p/w wages, or Aouar for half the price and half the wages, you'd go for Aouar, wouldn't you?

To me at least, that deal represents better value for money.

Aouar would be an absolutely amazing signing, would actually make me jealous. Would love it if he were to choose Arsenal over other clubs.
