Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Read we're also linked with Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca. Know nothing about him. But he's probably the back up if our board chickens out of paying up for Partey.
This season means nothing much more really. At best we'll remain around 9th place so we don't play EL next season. Have to look forward to next season.
Bellerin/Niles - Luiz/Mari - Saliba - Tierney
Partey - Xhaka
Ozil???
Martinelli - Auba - Saka
Unfortunately we'll probably still have to do with Xhaka because my faith is low on Torreira and Guendouzi.
It'll be a real heartbreak if we enter the next season with Ozil as our main AM option YET AGAIN because it already means we'll accomplish nothing major

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Roca would probably be >30m (think he has a 40m release clause, was reported last summer when we were supposed to be after him)
Partey surely much more

Actually 100% certainly not.
But we'll sell him for 35m no doubt.

Arsenal had already made the decision to sign Pablo Mari permanently in January. Arsenal took Pablo on loan to circumvent financial fairplay. Arsenal paid a significant sum to loan him, so of course they have no choice but to sign him permanently. [@simpraisa, Marco Braz]

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Speaking of which, we also need to sell Mkhitaryan, Elneny, Ozil, and probably Torreira. I can't see us paying up big to keep Ceballos. Cedric's loan will expire and we have no reason to offer him a contract. Lacazette could go too if we need the funds, though PEA might leave first, and then we're royally fucked. Niles and Willock could both use a loan to play regularly at CM but I don't see how we can afford to let them get the experience they need when we don't have enough senior players in that position.
We honestly just need a new owner who is going to be aggressive and give us huge funds this one time because we're on the verge of collapsing and being an irrelevant mid-table club for years to come. Our talent simply isn't there anymore and it is frankly impossible to compete with the financing of the other teams and not keep getting worse by comparison. Kroenke has shown glimpses of giving more of a shit in recent times and I get that we have no CL football to help with revenues but we never will have that income again if he doesn't fork some money up front, even if it's via a loan. You need to spend money to make money.
We'll get some funds if we manage to sell everyone, but then we will need so many changes it makes my head spin:
- GK (if Leno is out LT)
- RB (unless we choose Cedric)
- CB x2 (1 at minimum)
- CM/CAM x3 (2 at minimum)
- LW/RW - maybe Kluivert if we can get him for Mkhi?
We need around 150M to have the window we really need to be relevant and I feel we're going to be told to try to break even under the guise of 'COVID-19' when Kroenke's net worth only increases

Zaha and Doucouré would be good from Within PL
I still believe in Golovin and Zagadou
We should take a chance on them

Bellerin---Saliba---Zagadou---Tierney
----------------------Xhaka

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
The harsh reality is that the club has little money for signings without sales (or an owner injection, but that ain't happening). This is why Mari and Cedric have been signed-up to four year deals and Luiz is being extended.
Torreira and Aubameyang are the most likely to be sold. One hasn't settled and the other can do a lot better than his current team.
If/when Auba leaves, Lacazette will be kept at all costs. Club can't afford to lose both strikers without being in a position to sign a quality replacement.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if Mkhitaryan returned to the first team to pad out the offensive options.
Ozil will stay until the end of his deal because nobody is taking his wages.
Saka will either leave with a year left on his contract or go into the season without extending.
The club will struggle to find buyers for Mustafi, Kolasinac and Elneny.
In short, I'm anticipating a very difficult transfer window with a lot of wheeling and dealing going on.

If Saka can play full back in back four(which he has done)
Then so can Adama

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Traore is a winger, through and through. Playing RWB a few times is absolutely not the same thing as playing as a RB in a back four.
Also, I suspect his current success comes down to Wolves knowing exactly how to use him and how to isolate him against defenders. I'm not convinced this can translate over to Arsenal.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
We'll need to work with signing players from top teams who are towards the end of their contracts and want to leave, or finding youngsters nobody has really heard of. Nothing else is really going to work. We're an opportunistic club in the transfer window at this point - we can't get who we want, we can only get who's available and hope that opportunities present themselves
