GOAT promo skills.
Eagerly awaiting a program with him and Punk. Don't know how long that will take

Yeah I too was impressed with MJF mic work. But i would rather see Punk vs someone like Adam Cole or even Kenny Omega. Punk taking on Elite would be one hell of a story line.

^^ well that looks like it will be Bryan for the time being
Punk is probably going to work with the younger, midcard talent for a while as he works his way back to top conditioning (well, as top as he can get these days)

Guys keep in mind AEW has a ranking system so that's part of the reason why they wouldn't just jam main event matchups immediately.
Also Bryan was a WM main eventer just 3 months ago, so even we ignore the ranking system he's clearly better prepared to put on a main event level match than Punk is rn.
Even just purely on a Stamina pov.

MJF recovered all his heat from that promo. Good showing by Pillman Jr too.

Tony Khan just said that All Out did more than 200k PPV buys smashing the previous record (Revolution 2021 did 145K).
That's around the amount WWE would do for big 4 PPVs before the network launched. Lots of momentum going AEW's way.

I've seen every episode of AEW since its launch. Good to see that it's breaking that kind of record.
I just wonder how their TV viewership will be impacted moving forward. Do they finally get past the low 1M range? They certainly have the talent to do so. Although, I'm not too sure about the week-to-week booking to maintain interest to do so.

Yeah his contract expires early 2022 and he is best friends with Adam Cole and the Bucks. He tweeted some stuff hinting he's joining.

Watch WWE try and promote some NBA star who doesn't care lol.

In fairness to them that Trae stuff is great lol.
Also Smackdown based on my extensive research of watching YouTube clips seems really good this week.
So that's nice.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 34
Because Demographic ratings matter more than actual viewership for people working in TV.
TV executives don't care about overall viewers anymore and haven't done for a long time.
To use this as an example
https://showbuzzdaily.com/articles/showbuzzdailys-monday-9-6-2021-top-150-cable-originals-network-finals.html
This also explains why WWE keep getting monstrous TV deals despite declining overall viewership.

Seems the ratings war has officially begun.
Dynamite beats Raw for the first time in ratings and then the following week, WWE decide to make Big E Champion.
Is Lashley taking time off or something?

Big E is the new WWE champion. Vince probably blames Lashley for the demo loss and that was his punishment.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 34
Nothing to do with Lashley. Vince wanted to pop a rating and decided to make Big E champion. No planning or anything happened, Lashley was set to face Orton at Extreme Rules. I'm happy for Big E but the lack of planning worries me. He could easily be made a scapegoat if AEW keeps on beating RAW in the demos. They have two huge shows set up for their NY debut next week.

Getting Arthur Ashe was a masterstroke. Barclays Center has been monopolized by WWE, MSG is too expensive, Hammerstein Ballroom is too small. Tony Khan was brilliant in picking up an arena where no one ran a wrestling show ever but has a larger capacity than any NY arena.

tbh i'm a bit fatigued by the CM Punk interviews at this point, it's overplay rinse repeat... we all know the story by now about his return and how he loves wrestling again

Don't think they're overplaying it. It's definitely part of the storyline given that he's already been called out on his 'lovefest' for pro-wrestling.
Besides he got slammed on the commentary table on Dynamite and AEW tend to have these 1 on 1 interviews to put some spark into the feud.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 34
Danielson/Omega managed to be great without either going all out. They can go again without fans getting tired of it, easily.
I'm wondering who will take the belt off Omega, though. From what I've heard Danielson's not going to be there all the time and they're using Punk else where. Only guy I can think of is Hangman.
Shout out to MJF, who still managed to get the whole crowd to boo him on a night everything was getting cheered.

Kinda obvious it was going to time limit draw. They need to do what NJPW do and start announcing how much time left 5 minutes out.
