Atalanta, welcome to the Champions League
That trident of Ilicic, Gomez and Zapata will ruin European heavyweights

Atalanta in the CL...
That's basically 3 spots for Serie A.

Let's be honest, it's only 1 spot and that's Jjuve. Everyone else is Europa fodder.

Re: Atalanta, welcome to the Champions League
tbf, they play a much better football than Milan and Inter, no surprise here.. They have the most goals in Serie A. We played them 3 times this season, and we never beat them.
I'd fear them more in UCL than any of the Milano clubs.

Gasperini is doing a great job at Atalanta. It once again shows if you want to do well in the league pray that you have an amazing offense.
No bigger correlation between league position than goals scored. An able front three goes a long way.

Well that's just not right. The league position correlates much more with goals conceded. The best defense always wins in Serie A while the most goals scored comfortably leave us in 3rd place most seasons.

Re: Atalanta, welcome to the Champions League
Atalanta have done it! Third in Serie A: highest they've finished in their 112-year history, and enough to qualify for the Champions League for 1st time. This with a wage bill less than 1/4 that of Milan or Inter. Serie A's top scorers & finished season on a 13-game unbeaten run

Look where Atalanta is - not only do they have one of the smallest budgets but they have qualified for CL and boast the best attack in Serie A, even outscoring Ronaldo’s Juventus. #moneyisnteverything #butGaspiseverything #Atalanta pic.twitter.com/l96cOtzAZJ

I feel Gasperini is not staying after his words

Re: Atalanta, welcome to the Champions League
Percassi said that its no question, Gasperini is staying. Gasperini on the other hand didn't make it clear at all, said "the ideas have to be aligned...".
If he leaves Atalanta are in big trouble. He's the main man behind this.
This last summer Atalanta had a poor market. Weakened the team and Gasperini complained about it. He won't take another one like it, even more now with CL. I can see him going to Roma, and maybe De Zerbi or Giampaolo going to Atalanta.
