2015 and 2017 were the best years of this gen, both were stupidly good.

2017 was so good it left me burned out on gaming for like 2 years lol

Been playing that for six years on and off. Pretty much like I did with San Andreas back in the day lol.

You can't say its a shit year without playing hardly anything lol. If you played them and think they were meh, fine your opinion is valid. Like 2014 for me, played Middle Earth, Watch Dogs Far Cry 4, DS II, DA Inquisition etc but they all ranged from meh to decent for me so for me its a bad year.

Tbh most gaming websites would consider Minecraft as game of the decade. It's a genre defining game. Best selling game of all time. A real icon in the gaming world. The amount of games it inspired and still does is amazing.

I actually have 2018 ahead of 2017 and on par with 2015. I don't have a Switch so I see why most people rate 17 higher but from just PS4 I think 18 is the GOAT year.

RDR 2, God Of War, Spider-Man, Shadow Of The Colossus, Monster Hunter World (the best coop game of the gen), Yakuza Kiwami 2, Yakuza 6, Hitman 2, Celeste, Dead Cells, AC Odyssey, Detroit, A Way Out. Worst game I played of the year was Shadow Of The Tomb Raider which was pretty meh.

Think the best year of the decade is 2013 for me. The trifecta of GTA 5, TLOU and BioShock Infinite is just too much. Was basically the swansong of last gen. Can see next year being the same with Cyberpunk, TLOU 2, Ghost Of Tsushima, Elden Ring, FF7 etc.

idk man the amount of hours i spent in that game with friends on a local server when it first came out was unfathomable.

I don't think i spent more time in any other game. Except Fifa maybe

Its the best and worst game at the same time.

2018 had some truly amazing games but it didn't have the sheer volume of great games that 2017 had imo.

2017 just had an unreal amount of depth, i haven't seen a year with so many minimum 8/10 games in a long time.

You missed out on Ishiin Sword Saint. Insane boss. Probably my favorite From Soft boss fight.

It is. There is so much content and it's so fun that it's worth it for most people I would say. Still, you definitely have to have played some games in the series though, don't know if you did. At least to get a fuller experience.

It's gorgeous and extremely cinematic in it's gameplay. This is basically god-level Sora since it's the last game, they embrace that totally and take the combat a whole new level. Running up walls, calling summons all the time, crazy abilities, it's like KH2 times 10 in it's combat scale.

The big downer for me was the difficulty, it's the easiest of the main 3 games without a doubt. Had to play it in proud mode (hard) and even that is not as difficult as it used to be. Since it's an action RPG this is big imo, you have so many options in combat that it's easy to feel overpowered with the game's difficulty level.

The worlds are much more fleshed out than before, they are more unique to each other, and much more involved than the old "replay one aspect of the movie" that KH used to do without much else. This is the biggest plus besides the obvious one like graphics. Makes it great to explore new worlds and always keeps it entertaining. The downside is that there is no more final fantasy stuff. Still, there is no comparison here, this kind of worlds is what KH always wanted to be imo.

Then there is the ton of side games, from cooking (ratatouille) to having your own old school handheld with old mickey games. The conclusion of the story, a crazy amount of combat options, big worlds, more complex gummy ship stuff, etc. It's the result of Square throwing everything they had at it to make the game grander. Some stuff didn't land so well but it's all worth it. Very different game to KH2 but very appropriate for the finale.

No console peasantry, but mods yes. Pretty rpg oriented because I've mostly grown out of other type of games. Top 10 games of the decade:
