Re: Mathijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich
Surprised Man U still have the pulling power, they are going all in for this one... on the other hand I can see us missing out and decline into mediocracy, since Valverde seems like staying and the board is acting like the same.

Manchester United have launched a £70m bid for Matthijs de Ligt and will meet his agent Mino Raiola’s demands for a £350,000-a-week wage. (Source: Mirror)

Re: Mathijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich
If Barca were serious about him, he'd choose them eyes closed. Aren't he and DeJong like Tibo and Hazard? He'll definitely want to play in the same team as his best friend especially since this team is Barca. Maybe he's scared that with the amount of CBs Barca have there'll be too much pressire for him to outplay them all. I think Barca are the only team that can cover his deficiences. He is very slow and gets turned by good dribbles, at Barca that wouldn't happen often because they keep the ball so well. Hed be a fool not to join them.
But i suspect this is about money, he's doing an MBappe and soon enough he'll be forgotten and the world will move on to the next big thing

I read something different. The reported wage was 210k a week, which seems a lot more sensible, and a lot less like Woodward.

Rule out Juve too
Looks like Frenzy getting another proper ass kicking for that premature celebration on his transfer trophy

Have we actually come to the point where you're RJing the transfer of some Dutch CB kid?
We're not in this, definitively. We spent 115€ on 2 CBs already this window.

Re: Mathijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich
dodged a bullet if so
imagine spending that amount on an unproven 19 year old numpty
would much rather sign Koulibaly
still think this one has wheels though but I think it all depends on Barca shifting out Coutinho or Dembele, or both
Juve and Bayern have no chance. Juve don't have this kinda cash to drop on a CB.
also, if Ballbag is the SKy Source then it's less credible than some random twitter bullshiter

Re: Mathijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich
Also everyone is "unproven" at some point, besides his performances this season in the CL from what I've read has proven way more than Koulibaly ever has.
When a young player is talented and young, sometimes you take that risk in case he becomes world class level for a decade.
Think how stupid you look if he becomes the best in the world and you don't get him because " he's unproven".
Fortunately most football clubs aren't that short sighted and don't operate with close to zero foresight.

We signed Martial for silly money when he was the next big thing as a kid and that turned out shit. We've signed CB's that turned out to be scrubs consistently and now we're saddled with them. Forgive me for not wanting to take a risk on some 19 year old out of the Dutch league. Would much rather a proven tank like Koulibaly.

Re: Mathijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich
also, someone dig up a post of the last time you saw kaLadin in a transfer thread excited about Milan. The most joy he's had during the last 10 transfer windows have been at the expense of bigger, better clubs that get linked with big names.

I will let that one slide, we have much bigger things to be concerned about tonight, hopefully things go our way.

Re: Mathijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich
yeah but it was a chohesive team effort rather than him having any standout games
De Ligt got dominated by Llorente bro, if that's not cause for concern I don't know what is, he will have to face Llorente types every week in the PL.

Ya boy Koulibaly
I've seen both CBs, and i definitely peg De Ligt as the better of the 2

Re: Mathijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich
anyway if I step out of numpty mode briefly
I'd take De Ligt at 70m rather than the 150m being quoted for Koulibaly (and numpty guru's online have already claimed ADL turned down 90m bids for Koulibaly from us)
again, I think he will end up at Barca but only if they sell Coutinho and some others. They won't be signing Griezmann for silly money and wages AND De Ligt, on top of whatever else they have.
Supposedly the interest from us is concrete for De Ligt, I don't really see him at any other teams besides us or Barca. City if they wanted him, sure.
We'll see what happens. Not too fussed in general, even though I desperately want a new CB. Considering the level of the numpties we have, there are dozens of potential players that are improvements.
