Re: PlayStation 5
PS5's Game Boost's purpose is to make the most out of PS4 games that are played on/upgraded to a PS5 version. It affects individual games differently, but some of the boosts sound really amazing.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt upgraded to a 4k game.
Ghost of Tsushima upgraded from 30fps to 60fps
Here's a list of the games that will receive free, PS5 upgrades, and what those upgrades are (if confirmed).

here are the pictures you've been waiting for: PS5 vs. Xbox Series X. We've also got photos of the PS5 alongside the Xbox Series S. All of @vjeranpavic's great photos right here: https://t.co/ny6lXbn1Zx pic.twitter.com/aW6kxeeZ3m

It seems like we must wait a bit to have the PS5 if not pre-ordered
I skipped the whole PS4 generation

The console seems disgusting though. Oversized and bulky.
PS4 was wonderfully designed.

The Xbox looks like a speaker you bought once, and now that you no longer need it, it’s just taking up space somewhere.

I'd like to say "what does the shape of the console matter?", but in all honestly some will probably buy the PS based just on the looks.

Boost can affect the framerate from 30FPS to 60FPS but isn't going to improve the texture quality. For that, the developers have to update the game engines with high resolution textures.

Re: PlayStation 5
Checked some video and was surprised the amount of improvement they done. Usually it's just a new DS controller.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:A lot of videos i watched have people waxing lyrical about the controller.
I'm mostly interested in texture that they've added at the back of the controller for a better grip. Was about to pick up some performance grips with new kontrol freeks but will wait on the grip part till I got the PS5.
Disliked the DS4 from the get-go. Felt where you hold the controllers was too thick and all the videos had the same opinion. My fault for never getting a 3rd party DS4 controller.

Re: PlayStation 5
The PS5 is an aesthetic success. I care not for the pedantic opinions as it is refreshing, creative and not too loud in its approach. Yes it is too big but that is relative to the previous console.
Xbox is not well met but I find beauty in it for reasons I will explain. As a semi-retired architect I still hate brutalist architecture to which it echos to but its monolithic structure is what I feel an intentional display of how powerful the console it, to which it is distinctly more than the PS5, as I have understood. No further eccentricity is needed in its design for that reason but I hundred percent understand why any of you dislike it.

Re: PlayStation 5
Do we know if this PS5 game boost comes at release or if it depends on each game?
I remember reading way back that The Witcher 3 would get a PS5 next year, is that the same thing?
Might postpone playing W3 until the PS5 upgrade comes out.

Re: PlayStation 5
Forgot TW3 is going to be boosted for PS5. Let us know (in detail is possible) how it is Rinc. Definitely going to get on it.
And Freeza, the verticality of the PS5 is what gives that impression of less space taken.

From what I understand, game boost should be available at release. It’s been confirmed that the PS4 version of the Witcher 4: Wild Hunt will be running in 4k on the PS5. I don’t know how substantial that is in actual performance. I would’ve liked to see an upgrade in frames per second for smoother movements and animations.

Re: PlayStation 5
Is this 'game boost' what us PC gamers call 'increase the settings in graphics section'? Or is it not even that, just more processing power equals more frame rate?
Re: PlayStation 5
I don’t know.
Some games are upgraded to 4k, others are not. Some have their FPS increased, others do not. It depends on the game, I suppose. I assume the developer decides which upgrades apply, based on what’s possible without making a full-scale, remaster.

Re: PlayStation 5
Yeah I think so. Good thing for next gen owners is that most of the games already have higher resolution and detail capability built into them as per the PC version.
