All three consoles as a whole generate 47.9BN revenue, PC alone 35.7BN. Ditching the PC market is like leaving money on the road/stupid. Sony asks publishers to make a game exlusive but they can't pay the full development price through the sale on a single platform alone (PS4 alone can't compete with PC). So Sony or Microsoft help to finance/to kickstart the development of a game for it to be time exlusive or exlusive for PS4/Xbox AND PC. Ditching Xbox or PS4 doesn't hurt as much but ditching one of them and PC hurts financially a lot. So what happens, a game is released for PS4 or Xbox One, after some short time, it is released for PC. The time frame has to be shorter, otherwise the gamers will forget the platform adventisement. The only time a game completly stays exclusive for a platform is when it is of no relevance to other consoles or PC like Super Mario.

Again, I've got nothing against consoles, there's no PC vs console wars. Consoles are becoming PCs which makes me happy. At some point, I'll ditch my gamer PC and go with a notebook + console combo when the consoles are developed enough.

Rather odd to (predictably) hijack another thread and a PS5 one at that whilst flexing a bunch of numbers and specs. PC is just less and less relevant now and while I prioritise graphics above all, it just isn't worth the time put into its build let alone continual investment.


Consoles are just easier and tbh,

better.

I don't care about the hardware and specs wars, I just prefer playing my main genre, first-person-shooters, with a keyboard & mouse rather than a controller.

One thing that PC has over consoles, though, is that it's much easier to plug a controller (or a steering wheel and pedals) on a PC than use keyboard and mouse on your console.

PC has everything over consoles, other than hardware costs. I would say modability being the most important one, which gives more longevity for your favorite games.

Both companies' games are filled with MTX. That's how they earn their money.

With NBA 2K you have to spend VC to be able to play MyTeam. Without it, the game is an endless grind.

They mentioned games in their press release, i wouldn't be surprised if the pricing and date has nothing to do with it lol.

Microsoft is said to be undercutting the price of the XSX. Not a problem for them because they earn most of the money with games, online services and subscriptions to game pass. Sony's console is supposed to be pricier than XSX even though the GPU is weaker due to the custom made SSD, an extra sound chip and custom IO for faster loading. Sony earns money by selling hardware and games, mostly. They can't undercut the price by much. Expect PS5 digital to be between 449€-499€.

Highly likely FF16 gets revealed as a timed exclusive.
