Re: UCL QF 18/19 | Ajax Vs Juventus
Do you know what's the saddest thing now ?
Ajax are gonna to sell their best players after this year.
That's the problem of the modern football.
If Ajax wait other 3 years, adding 2 -3 players to this team .. they could win it.
And they 'd deserve it more than Juve , Real , Bayern etc

No need to wait 2 or 3 years, we can and will win it this year.

Would be great to see Ajax win CL, i would not be mad, and if they end up beating us i'll root for them too
But deep down we know Juve will destroy this dream

De Jong out for the 2nd leg ? @zigra
Frenkie de Jong off injured for Ajax which isn't a good sign ahead of the CL QF second leg against Juventus.

By modern football, you mean post Bosman because Ajax has been selling for just over 20 years now.

No, they don't. They deserve it just as much as the other teams left in the competition. Except United.

Chiellini is officially out of this game
Should still comfortably progress though IMO
Ronaldo brace and a late Moise Kean tap-in should do it for us

Re: UCL QF 18/19 | Ajax Vs Juventus
Chiellini out is a huge blow from my perspective given he is just another level of centre-back for Juventus in Torino let alone as a defender alone.
Yes Rugani had a special performance in Amsterdam but does anyone see him replicating that as inertly talented centre-backs like him are always a ticking time-bomb waiting to happen and usually do not replicate such a performance yet again. Though there is no tangible reason to predict this, just a guess. And more so in Torino who should obviously be more confident if he did it in the white-hot atmosphere in Amsterdam.
Mandzukic is also out which is fine given he has been close to useless in attack for well over 4 months bar his streamlined role.
de Jong is officially back in the squad but ten Hag noted his inclusion purely down to de Jong's own desire to play despite its risk but I doubt someone that young and hungry in their match of the season will miss out so expect him to start.
Juventus have an advantage in Tagliofico being out (who isnt very good but remains crucial to their left flank).
ten Hag expects Max to defend deeper to which can be right as in such a precarious situation Max tends to want to defend an aggregate lead rather than capitalise upon it and decisions that happen in that form typically of Italian coaches are infuriating given it just results in sinking the time out and absorbing pressure until a usual late concession.

Re: UCL QF 18/19 | Ajax Vs Juventus
Can being back seems to be better news than Juve fans would anticipate this time compared to earlier in the season as Max found basically what was his perfect role in midfield that helps far more for Pjanic and the midfield as a whole.
Dybala and Kean seem to be the choice up front of course, as quoted by Allegri as Kean is more deserving this time and his mental resilience would have me personally pick him over Dybala given the latter is rather mentally weak and seems to have been a non-factor as of recent.
Predicted line-ups?

Re: UCL QF 18/19 | Ajax Vs Juventus
Predicted?
De Sciglio Rugani Bonucci Sandro
Can Pjanic Matuidi
Berna Kean Ronaldo
I would play Cancelo over DeSciglio and Bentancur over Matuidi, but you asked for predicted lineup
Ajax leave a lot of space behind and, with Kean in place of Mandzukic, counterattacks should come easy.

Re: UCL QF 18/19 | Ajax Vs Juventus
Thank you Adun (and Rincon) and your final point is very correct.
Rincon's expected line-up is pretty much the best Juventus can field as Chiellini for me I thought would be fit but the return of Can will be welcome in this current midfield.
As a neutral I would prefer to see Kean up front rather than Dybala who when anonymous in a game is borderline unnoticeable.

Have a very very sneaky feeling re: Ajax tonight....so strange.
What a game it'll be if Ajax get the first goal.
Easily the match to watch tonight. The other encounter will be a borefest

Alls I know is, if Juventus lose to the likes of Ajax and Young Boys after signing CR7 specifically to win the CL
whew
would not like to be a Juventus fan in that scenario
I have a feeling Ajax beat them too

Re: UCL QF 18/19 | Ajax Vs Juventus
Juventus no doubt will be entering this game with confidence but the inclusion of De Sciglio, not having faith in Rugani to replicate his previous performance and Ajax's inhumane confidence have me predict
0-2 Ajax
Jjuventus in for a surprise.
Early goal from Ajax within the first 25.

Re: UCL QF 18/19 | Ajax Vs Juventus
Going with 3-1 Juve unfortunately. Yeah Ajax play with confidence and look a strong team that know what they want to do but..they're still Ajax. That and Juve being very strong at home makes me think it'll be a routine win for 'em. Praying Ajax prove me wrong and I do think they can pull off an upset but Juve obvious favourites. Until they face a great team.
Good luck Zigra
