Sports does not overrated Mbappe but we do know Mbappe is the new Benzema for him to which his support for the latter was huge until his off-field antics and flopping for France for a decade. Otherwise before that it was Sports highlighting things Benz does (albeit true ones) that even we did not notice and that during the long Benz v Higuain debate from RM fans. Mbappe is not a degenerate like Kariminal and is very young so it is easy to hope for the best for the PSG forward.

Actually, my favorite french player currently is Kante. But he's not fun to debate... what's there to debate?

They're all one horse races. Apart from Juve, Barca, Bayern, and PSG, no club manages to consistently compete for the title of Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue 1

Barca has to work a lot harder than the other ones granted... but really, they've dominated the last 10 years in terms of league titles.

It’s irrelevant to the topic of the thread, I just didn’t know where else to put it. I used to watch Ligue 1 weekly, a long time ago, and no team was quite as dominant then, as PSG seem to be nowadays. That one year with Zlatan was just exceptionally, ridiculously dominant.

Yeah, Lyon had three truly dominant seasons during the final years of Juninho’s time at the club. I remember those seasons well, because I was watching Lyon quite regularly at the time. It was different in the sense that you felt that they were simply on a good run of form with an exceptional crop of players, though.

I always knew that their dominant display was only temporary. I mean, 3 seasons is a long time, but with this PSG side, it seems like more of a tangible, sustainable dominance that will likely continue for as long as they have this level of economic muscle. They don’t need to sell their players, and they have both the resources and appeal to replace the ones that do leave. Lyon never had that luxury.

Lyon wasn't completely dominant. Monaco, OM, Lille and Bordeaux were good during that period. Monaco (Evra, Giuly, etc.) made CL finals, Bordeaux had a good team, OM had Ribery for a bit, Pauleta's PSG were good, etc.

Made Lyon's run that much more impressive. Ligue 1 had legit talent.

Mbappe was lucky. It was just a sprain and nothing else. 15 days out minimum. He likely won't play the CL tournament in Portugal... because it's 15 days of inactivity (at best) and then you need to do rehab after that. It's like a 30-day injury all in imo. You can't rush an ankle sprain.
