Frenkie De Jong
Getting signed for Barca in a matter of hours.
Everyone raves about him.
Everything I see of him looks nothing special.

Re: Frenkie De Jong
I've only watched him play a couple of times. Seems to have a pretty good passing ability, for his age. Shields the ball well. I honestly can't see anything extraordinary in him either, but he's young and above average. The potential is there, I suppose. Could be a diamond in the rough, for all we know.

Poor man's Weigl. Will turn out average without a doubt.

Re: Frenkie De Jong
Suddenly the price Zenit is asking for Leandro Paredes doesn’t seem so bad.
Damn that is a huge fee for FDJ.

Baffles me that Barca didn't go for De Stones and got this marvelous talent instead. We should respond with Aouar asap

I love Paredes, he's freakishly talented imo. Don't know what he's doing in Russia though, he should be playing for us.

Re: Frenkie De Jong
I'm going to assume he's hot shit considering pretty much all of Europe has been linked with him.
Not seen one second of him though.

He’s dutch, plays for the talent factory that is Ajax, he’s relatively young - turns 22 in may. I somehow assumed he was 18-19. Ticks all the boxes

He's good, but not 70m+ good.

Considering his hype, age and the current market, I think that’s a fairly predictable price tag. De Ligt will likely be more expensive.

Mixed feelings about this, would prefer Ndombele. I'm pretty sure those ~70M could have been spent better...

Meh money is meaningless, no one cares basically 2 weeks into you playing for that club unless you suck.
People need to stop paying so much attention to it.

Re: Frenkie De Jong
He has the Casc seal of approval. Generational talent.
If Kroos and Modric are the top CM's of this era, like Xavi and Iniesta were before them, Frenkie will be the top CM of the upcoming generation.
The Mbappe of CM's.

So what you're trying to say here is, in fact, that we are doomed.

There are a few but in a more advanced midfield role Aouar is fantastic - Iniesta like.

Basically 84 potential CDM on Fifa who seems to lack enough X variables to strike fear into anyone.

Why stop there? Reminds me of a young Ronaldinho
That was a reply to Dany’s comment, suggesting he looks like a young Christian Eriksen. Why’d you delete it?

Re: Frenkie De Jong
Barca are out of control and you can't say he's legit after playing a few games in the Dutch league
when was the last time an elite talent came through their youth system?
ffs, insanity
guy will be getting experience at Herenveen in 18 months, quote me.

Re: Frenkie De Jong
There's a mediocre movie called The Change-Up that tells the story of two old pals who switched bodies one night after lightning struck while they were both peeing in a fountain. Anyway, I'm suspecting the same thing happened to Florentino and Bartomeu.
I mean since 2017 alone, Bartomeu has spent £507.72m on transfers while Florentino has spent £237.83m (most of whom aren't legally allowed to drink in the US).
Someone, please find that fountain.
