Gonna get all of these but none at full price. Only game I got at full price this year is RDR2 and FIFA 19. Also pretty sure m8s are gonna buy some, so will borrow.
I really don't know why people here are not looking forward to DMC/RE Not fans of the series?
Devil May Cry 5 is set to be released in march, not april, by the way.
I've already played Resident Evil 2. I don't know if they've added enough to warrant playing it all over again, but I'll consider it. Days Gone is the only April release that looks interesting, from what I can tell.

Witcher 3 for me and then the rest.
Never was a consecutive binge of hours but more 2-3 hours per week spanning over a year. In terms of opportunity cost of course that wasn't wise to sink all those hours but do I regret it?
Absolutely not. Memories of the whole Witcher world still remain with me often.

Damn tried to start PoE, but can't seem to get into it, played like hour or two in 15 minute stints. I think most annoying thing is the dialogue at the start, and how fucking foreign it sounds, almost every other new word is just too damn forgettable. This is so far away from masterpiece a like BG. Which is shame as it feels like well made, and I bought the whole series.

I've been trying to make my own one, but the video creator seemed to crash after you made yours, and it's been out of order for a couple of days now

Upgraded my processor and hooked up my pc to a big tv to emulate some old games in HD. Playing Mario Galaxy for the first time, game is a lot of fun so far.

Re: General Games Discussion
Its not that bad actually (for Nnintendo's standards), for the much part the matches have been seamless, then again the last time i played online with Nintendo was probably Smash Brawl, and that was a hot pile of garbage.
Matchmaking is a bit weird if you are in it to play competitively, especially with ruleset configurations, sometimes you aren't always in a match with your preferred rules. Mainly play casually offline with friends, but if its the lagginess you're asking i think its not a big problem.

Yh lag mainly, it's not a major deal because there seems more than enough content single player and local mp wise.

Re: General Games Discussion
Going through my backlog, another gem that I missed out on was Quantum Break. If you've played the Max Payne games as well as Alan Wake you'll know the developer Remedy are a creative bunch that don't stick to the tried and tested formulas and this game doesn't disappoint. It is a very action-packed, TV series style action game with very interesting time-lapse abilities and a strong story. Albeit short (I beat the whole thing in 10 hours) I enjoyed every minute of it.
All yours for a mere €8.50. You ain't got nothing to lose.

Yeah Control looks good, although they are going a bit nuts with space opera compared to their more realistic earlier games.

Re: General Games Discussion
@harmonica Been playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance lately, got almost 20 hours of playtime in the past couple of days.
They used CryEngine 3 (it was released 10 years ago ffs) and it really shows its age. I don't think this game is anywhere as buggy as it was back when it was released (I didn't encounter any during the last couple of days), but the gameplay mechanics and animations are quite poor. I think this was a very ambitious project that didn't quite have the time, money or expertise to pull it off completely.
But that aside, it is one of the most exciting RPGs I've played in recent years. And there are way too many systems to learn IMHO which would scare off casual gamers for sure, but once you get around all the different mechanics it all kinda makes sense and gives you more freedom to do what you want to do.
The quests (both mains and sides) are Witcher 3 level if not better. They are so varied, well-written and with very good voice acting but shame the facial animations let it down. Also I like how you can fail a quest outright if you don't pay attention to the world. I am still not a big fan of combat, I think it is pretty dated, reminds me of the first Mount & Blade. And the horse riding is worst riding experience I've had in games. Yes, worse than Roach in Witcher or riding in ES IV Oblivion.
In the end I just like that it is an RPG where you are a complete nobody at the start not some chosen hero but then you can spend hours of time in the world, better yourself and explore the world and kinda live a life the way you want to. Be a drunkard in the outskirts? No problem. A truly respected/feared champion? No problem, if you put the hours in.

Re: General Games Discussion
Yeah it's pretty old engine, because Warhorse started working on the game like 2012, and back then it was the top CryEngine. It's still the best overall engine of released 3D-freeroam rpg of today I think, that or Elex, because they have no restrictions like static objects or cell loads, and have thieving etc. skill mechanics. Facial animations on dialogue could be better though, although the cutscenes are exceptionally well made I think. The only real drawback of such engine is limited mass battles, and that's something next gen CryEngine, consoles and CPU's could tackle on KCD2. TaleWorlds have already had to scale back graphics and mechanics to develop mass battles necessary for M&B2, which is sad.
Are you using hardcore mode, and can you run ultra with your setup?

Re: General Games Discussion
Yeah, it is a shame because the game does look dated even on Ultra High settings. And I'm not only talking about animations which are sub par. The models don't look good for a game released in 2018. But I understand it was made by a smaller "indie" team of developers releasing a borderline AAA title.
For all the negatives, the story and gameplay are just so damn impressive. The characters and the story are so well-written and the connection you get with the characters after only a few minutes is quite strong. I'm not really that far into the game but I'm surprised by how big the world is and how much good stuff there is to do (emphasis on 'good' stuff, because this is not your typical Ubisoft fetch quest, if you like Witcher you know what I'm talking about). If you can look beyond the mediocre software that this game is built upon you will definitely enjoy this diamond in the rough.
Will there be a sequel to this game?
@Great Leader Sprucenuce You should definitely try this game mate, I think you will love it. It is going for less than 20 quid too.

Re: General Games Discussion
I think the models on armor and weapons are top notch and the dirty/broken dynamic is very well made. What models are you particularly talking, and compared to which game? I can't think similar game with better overall graphics tbh.
Yeah I think they are already talking of a trilogy.

Re: General Games Discussion
Trees, vegetation, houses, horses amongst many others tbh. When I compare it to RDR2 the difference is massive despite RDR2 running on the much inferior console. Shadows, lighting and shaders also.
Interesting that they want to continue with the medieval setting. Would be a big challenge considering there is not as much freedom as a fantasy but considering the storytelling expertise of the team, I'm sure they can do it. I just hope they use a more up to date engine this time round.

Re: General Games Discussion
Well I haven't played RDR2 so I can't talk about that, but is the engine comparable, does it have dynamic objects etc? When I compare to game like W3 all you mentioned are better in KCD, with less restricted engine to boot. Houses are imo good, castles and chappels are freaking amazing and definitely the best I've ever seen in a videogame.
Yeah I've also thought about how they are going to handle the more restricted no fantasy theme, but seeing this game, I think they can pull it through. Improving mass battles should be the priority for the sequel and it would definitely make the game feel more massive.
