This was a great buy. Finally they got something right.

What a killer blow it would be for Frenzie if Gattuso manages to qualify for CL and Ole helps United drop back to 6th after months of bashing Calshio and Mehlan....

Damn, I would truly have to feel sorry for him then

Had a good feeling about him when I saw that it was Robes who created his hype thread. Excellent eye for talent. Probably the best on this forum in that regard. The most reliable voice when it comes to Serie A talents.

As for Piatek wow. This is what a proper CF sounds like.

After joining Milan:

“I’ve scored goals in Serie A, this is the pressure I’ve chosen,  after my first training session in Italy I said: if I score 12 goals this season, I’ll be happy. But my appetite comes with eating."

After his brace against Napoli:
“I expected a night like this. I said that I was ready and I got a brace, but this is just the start"

His response after Gattuso said he reminded him of Robocop:

I am happy. I have to remain concentrated to continue do well. I am fine here, the fans wish me well. I want to score in each game. The ‘Robocop’ nickname? I am a gunman.”

Ice cold. This is what I want from my CF. No emotions, all business.

Thank Leonardo and Maldini that we binned Gonzalo "I need emotional support" Higuain for this stud.

6 goals in 5 games with Milan so far. 25 goals in all competitions with both Milan and Genoa this season. He's excellent at striking the ball, active in the box, creates his own shooting opportunities, more than a poacher, and he has that quick burst of pace in the first few yards to beat his marker.

My main concern so far is that he doesn't offer much other than being a finisher and every play needs to end with him on the ball. I haven't been impressed by his link up plays and he doesn't set other players.

Fantastic post Lascia.

In the end I always have cherished Gonzalo as a player and always will but his consistent emotional battle within himself began to irritate me in Milan and I was aware of what he can become since his Napoli days, growing that chip on his shoulder from the scorching criticism he receives in big moments in his career.

Those big moments (although way overblown) failed due to his extremely volatile mentality in which he cannot maintain his temperament though otherwise is a resoundingly skilled player and really does it all when it comes to a CF.

There was never any question that Piatek isn't anything beyond a poacher given he is a classic #9 that leads the line well, gives us vectors and our wingers the same guidelines to swoop into the box, knows where and when to make runs in ordinance to the play and best of all. Only is 23. Each game I am excited to see how he grows and his celebration is so charismatic.

Bless these Polish CFs.

That's not true. He can play hold-up and can throw some nice long balls towards the wingers.

He shots divinely. He has really an amazing shot. And yes he is not a poacher
I can feel a difference about him and Milik. Milik is the Polish Giroud, Piatek might be the next Lewandowski.

I wrote this in the 1st of October , after his girst goals in Genoa
Now It sounds as premature these comparisons , but I feel still there Is a similar difference between them

Honestly I don't rate highly Milik.
Yeah he Is good but I mean.. as Giroud in Arsenal years. Scored a good number, capable also of brillaint moments  but you feel there Is something missing

For me Piatek Is made of a different mettile, more implacable surely

Honestly I'm surprised Milik Is starter and not Piatek in Poland, I don't think it Is going to happen again since he Is Milan CF though

How does bumping this thread make sense?

Under Giampaolo we struggled against even the minnows thus barely giving the ball to Piatek who was tried to be used beyond what he prefers and thats being an atypical Polish striker.

Pioli is a new system directly as our blame lay on a lot of players but Piatek isnt one of them.

Milan's goal today was a result of a Piatek shot deflected off of Bastos that would have likely gone in given his position.

He is good with the ball and link up just prefers to to capitalise on chances and be in front of the net.

Too soon to write him off.

One of the biggest flops of the season.

From new Lewandowski to new Matri within a space of a few months. Milan seem really desperate to get him off the books.

Leaving Milan might help though but this steep decline was unexpected after the season he had last year.

I suppose if he was legit Juve would have bought him a lot earlier than Milan. Inter too.

Shame. But you never know. Bundesliga rebuilds many flops.

Yes. They have a new investor who has bought 37.5 % of Hertha and might get 49.9% next season (maximum for an outside owner under the 50+1 rule).
He's a former 90s new economy bubble prodigy with numerous bankruptcies to his name, so this is going to be good.
For starters, they've hired Klinsmann, the biggest fraud and most ridiculous clown of world football, to be part of the board, only for then to fire their new coach and install Klinsmann as coach.

And all this in the year when Union have come up to stay, while Hertha is fighting relegation lol.
