Re: Witcher 3-Part 3 ( Expansion Edition)
- Roche/Iorveth:
I haven't looked into the quests or stuff for Iorveth, maybe I will replay it soon. From a narrative perspective it made no sense to me why would Geralt pick Iorveth in that situation in the context of the game.
In terms of setting I liked much more the war camp than Vergen. Vergen seemed a bit generic, while the camp was something quite unique. Characters seem good all in all. Loved Roche, Ves, Henselt, Dethmold, etc. but I'm sure Saskia and Iorveth would have been cool too.

Hey i agree, I'm just saying why the decision often is quite split.
I've done both routes and enjoyed both immensely.

What difficulty do you guys recommend for W3?
I did normal on the first one and hard on the second one.
Blood and broken bones?

I have the normal game, not the GOTY edition. It just says Witcher 3 1.3 patch.
Does the GOTY edition change content about the main game itself? or is it just DLC after the story?

Re: Witcher 3-Part 3 ( Expansion Edition)
Death March for sure. It is difficult in the beginning but if you master the combat early little is stopping you from getting to the point where it goes smoothly. Plus the enemies unless you turn on level scaling, become easier as it goes.
Some segments are difficult though the fun is in the challenge on Death march.

Re: Witcher 3-Part 3 ( Expansion Edition)
Death march isn't really that difficult. Enemies become bullet sponge at times though but you just need to become OP yourself which is doable.
However if you are pressed for time and want to just enjoy the ride then go for an easier difficulty

Death March is easily the most rewarding but takes a good understanding of the games systems otherwise you might find it frustrating at first.
Playing on Blood and Broken Bones is fine.

Re: Witcher 3-Part 3 ( Expansion Edition)
I think we all learned from Dark Souls that if a difficulty level is difficult without being OP, it makes a game far more rewarding as a whole to progress through it.
Games are so easy and accessible these days that Death March really should be the default option in TW3 without even giving other options.
And I, am not a skilled gamer.

Re: Witcher 3-Part 3 ( Expansion Edition)
I would rather play games like RDR2 and Witcher 3 on above average difficulty as it allows to explore the game more without being in constant fear of getting dead. Playing something like UC4 or GoW on highest difficulty makes more sense.

Re: Witcher 3-Part 3 ( Expansion Edition)
Solid points but I dont have the time for Death March, and generally agree with Lucifer. Will play broken bones difficulty.
I currently on "vacation" between jobs for the past week. Next week I'll start to get busy again, and then in 3 weeks ill start my new job + working on some old stuff so I'll be super busy.
Decided I need a break from witcher anyway. Witcher 2 was very satisfying. Need that to settle before starting another huge trip with Geralt.
Started Horizon instead today. Game looks fantastic.

I'd totally try Death March if time constraint wasn't a thing, unfortunately you can't put too much time and effort in games if the only free time you have are weekends.

Re: Witcher 3-Part 3 ( Expansion Edition)
Just finished the game + DLC, by far one of my top 5 games of all time, absolutely amazing game from top to bottom, outside the combat, which I did adjust to everything else was enjoyable, put like 200 hrs into the game and spent like 10-15 hrs just on gwent lol
- Spoiler:
- Blood and Wine not sure why they called it bad ending, when all three Anna, Syanna and Detlaff die they all deserved it I got the ending with Anna alive but she deserve to die too. I swear usually with these games the bad ending is the actual good ending

Re: Witcher 3-Part 3 ( Expansion Edition)
I literally manipulated saves and pushed for the best ending but no doubt the "bad" ending is the more exciting one.
Similar to Witcher 3 where the really bad ending is absolutely haunting.
But once again pushed for the good one to spell a satisfying canonical ending for Geralt and end the game right at the villa.

Re: Witcher 3-Part 3 ( Expansion Edition)
I promised myself I will never replay an RPG due to the immense time sink they already are but my thoughts on Witcher are known and no doubt I will replay it on next-gen.
Hope its beyond just an HD upgrade like Dark Souls I.

See? this is why people like CDPR. Most publishers would’ve slapped a sizeable price tag on an upscaled edition, and free upgrades for people who already own the previous gen version, would’ve been out of the question. If there’s any game I’ll consider re-playing, it’s The Witcher 3.

Re: Witcher 3-Part 3 ( Expansion Edition)
1 year after finishing witcher 2 I finally started the 3rd one
The beginning feels very much like witcher 1. Out in the country side doing side quests while trying to track a target.

Thanks! not gonna run through it, feels unnatural to me. Prob won't do 100% of the sidequests though, just a good amount before moving on. For open world games if I get lost in sidequests the story loses momentum and I end up liking it less. Happened to me with Horizon at one point, then resumed the story with proper pacing and liked it much more.
I did like 5 sidequests before the Griffin mission at the start and got to Vizima now.

You should definitely play RDR2 when you have the chance, my favourite game of all time. TLOU2 is great as well, but does not compare to these 2 beasts.
