From what I've seen of friends and acquaintances, its mostly because life was way easier and fun in uni/high school days and hearing music from back then brings back those memories.

Gambino's new album, or as he calls it his hour long single track project feels like his magnum opus. Its like a fusion of all his projects. And if you like his work, you'll like this.

Uzi Vert's Eternal Atake is average. Disappointing after all the hype and build up.

No active R&B thread here, so might as well talk about Weeknd's new album here. I prefer his older work but I appreciate how he changed the style and aesthetic of After Hours. He could have stayed with what makes him popular but he evolved and its good, not bad at all. I'm just a huge fan of the Trilogy era Weeknd. House Of Balloons is in my top 5 album of the decade and he also did 50% of the work Drake's best ever album. Guy certified himself as a legend with After Hours.
