The whole Dreamville album is incredible imo.

But this one song is special

J.I.D and Johnny Venus are incredible on the album.

mm, 7/10 at best. JID killed everything though, it's clear that he is the most talented rapper on that label.
In the Dreamville doc on this album, he was like... "just give me all 3 beats, I'll get on all of them and murder it real quick" or something like that lol, that's the level of creative execution we should all aspire to.

Pretty telling on how much Drake deteriorated when his compilation of unreleased songs is way better than all his last five albums he released in the last five years.

Quality not quantity. But each year he gets even more famous so I doubt he cares.

mannn, i really underestimated this guy. He was loud and conscious, fuuuuck.

Skip to 05:39 I always had that feeling too I believe. Just running there in the background. Probably still is there. Like fuck this what is this, I've always wanted to just learn for myself. Rebel energy. Hated school as well, but I appreciated it for giving me a social life.

Post Malone's new album is pretty good, though you can argue its more pop that hip hop.

It was one of his early songs, you can hear that in the sampling and mixing. Had he made it in his last few years he probably would have stripped away some of those vocals from the sample.

The song is all about the energy and emotion though. Thumbs up Very Happy

Bruh, I stopped following rap around 2008 when I finished with school and got busy with other stuff. Got my attention last year when Eminem dropped Kamikaze. Imagine me time traveling 10 years only to discover the existence of Lil' Xan, Migos, MGK and Gucci Gang.

This is what I grew up with.

I make yo mouthpiece obese like Della Reese
When I release, you lose teeth like Little Cease
Nigga please
Blood floods your dungarees
And that's just a half of my warpath
Laugh now cry later, I rhyme greater
Than the average playa hater, and spectators
Buy my CD twice
They see me in the streets they be like yo he nice
But that's on the low doe'
Be the cats wit no dough, tried ta play me at my show
I pull out 4-4's, and go up in they clothes

Now we here:

Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang
Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang (Gucci gang!)
Spend ten racks on a new chain
My bitch love do cocaine, ooh
I fuck a bitch, I forgot her name
I can't buy a bitch no wedding ring
Rather go and buy Balmains
Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang (Gucci gang!)
Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang
Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang (Gucci gang!)

4 times platinum. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Lmaoo. "BaCk In mY GeNeRaTiOn RaP wAs So MuCh BeTtER", but then lists Kamikaze as if it was a classic when it's not even a top 10 rap album in the past decade or barely even top 5 last year

older folk always have preference bias towards the stuff that they vibed to in their teens, but then they never really make the effort to still listen to contemporary real rappers. Just because mumble rap is mainstream, doesn't mean it is the only rap out there currently.

Where did I list Kamikaze as it was a classic? I said it got my attention and from it I got to learn what's "in" these days.

I'm fully aware "dem olden days" is an eternal cliché. It doesn't mean you can't call dog poo dog poo just because it's recent dog poo.

Humanity has declined in every area, not just rap music. Video games, cartoons for kids, politicians, build quality of cars. Literally everything is optimized towards maximum profit with least possible costs (quality). Hollywood admits as much by remaking everything under the sun.

I mean the absurdity of comparing biggie to Lil pump is pretty hilarious. It's like comparing Kendrick Lamar to flavor flav. Also, listing people like lil xans (who is not even mainstream), migos, MGK (who is also not popular outside of the eminem beef), and Gucci Gang (is a song not a rapper) are not even notable rappers the past 10 years. I know you like to shitpost so if its that, then I get the hyperbole but your shitposts are usually better than this tbh.

Neither is Flava Flav slander. Public Enemy is one of the GOATs.

But really, I am done with old quarter life crisis farts who choose to hate everything recent because life is not as fun as it was during high school/university years.
