Re: The Movie House - Part 11
I absolutely do not get the appeal of turing video games into Movies, especially with the graphic and sound qualities of today’s video games. 15-20 years ago it made a lot of sense and had some appeals.

Because they're great stories, and the majority of the world doesn't have time or interest in spending 10+ hours on video games as a medium to experience a story.

Meh... MGS was already a very cinematic experience and produced several of the best games of their generation. Why ruin that with a movie? It seems like a cash grab to me.
Same goes for Uncharted.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Assassins Creed had the ideal concept to me. Set in the same universe as the games with different characters. So they had the freedom to make their own cohesive 2 hour story instead of having to cram a 20 hour experience to 2 hours.
Shame it was absolute shit.

Vox Lux... wow... what an experience. Not quite sure how to judge a movie like this. It’s so all over the place and provocative, but damn it doesn’t bode well for Brady Corbet’s future as a director.

I don't like Disney. Not for me, but I'll probably give it a try when the time comes.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
The right business decision from Disney. What he said in those tweets was absolutely not OK and that can't be lost (though it definitely will be), however this franchise is one of Disney's hottest. It must remain profitable, even if that means going back on their own decision.
Gunn's a great director who said pretty bad things. Doesn't make him a bad person, just makes the choice he made at that time a bad one. Hopefully he's learned something from this.

Just watched Sorrentino’s Berlusconi film.
A couple left about 40 minutes in because there had been like a million tits shown
Didn’t know what they were in for

Really? Fuck all these sequels man. I remember when Pixar kept wowing us with amazing new movies every few years. Now it's the same old shit...

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
I remember when Pixar's third ever film was a sequel
I remember when Pixar's second ever film was so original the same movie came out two months earlier, called Antz.
Pixar has always been like this lol. They're producing "original" movies at the same fucking pace they've always been.
This decade we've gotten:
Brave (2012)
Inside Out (2015)
The Goo Dinosaur (2015)
Coco (2017)
And in 2020 we'll get Onward.
That's five original films in 9 years. It's not exactly like they've stopped. They're producing at the same pace as they've always been. Aside from the Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up run they had.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Never been a huge Toy Story guy, except for the second. So I don't know. I skipped the car toy commercials.
Wall-E, Ratatouille, Incredibles and Inside Out are my go-tos.
I appreciate The Good Dinosaur for the visuals.
Coco and Up are insanely overrated to me.

Good point. I suppose they don't come to mind as easily as Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Wall-E or Up because most were quite forgettable. Unlike you, I personally loved Up and found Insight Out quite meh. But I guess it's unfair to fault them for no longer coming out with original content as you rightly point out that they do.

Hell, I appreciate the Cars franchise for basically securing financial stability to do the originals still. They could have just keep on making those sequels.
Also Incredibles 2 was really forgettable.
Come to think of it, not huge on the sequels. But I don't mind as long as the original ones come at the same pace.
