Firenze wrote:This is the Kommander watch thread, not Juventus beating scrubby Serie A sides appreciation thread, you could do that playing Amauri. This is where we come to laugh if he isn't performing on the pitch and he isn't. Like mah mans Hans said, he looks lost out there and it's not like he's playing against top sides. These are shit teams (Nazio aside, who are alright)
That's fine, just don't twist the two as you just did in the previous post and prepare for the hellfire on the back end of the season that you'll be sure to receive

So what, who cares of Cr7's ego, go put some hair gel if anything. At least the good ol narrative Serie A has superior defenses is proven true

Ronaldo will get his scoring boots back no doubt. He had like 4 league goals for us prior to December. Juve just need to expect to pass only to him. Spotlight can't be on anyone else or he'll be muy triste

Not really an argument because Serie A teams concede goals in the CL and haven't won it since 2010. So I'm more inclined to think that Ronaldo is having a shit show more than you having strong defenses.

Its the toughest league to score without a shadow out of a doubt
And La Liga being the easiest. I mean Zaza looked a world beater out there at one point

You know things are a bit uncomfortable when one is posting Matuidi pics instead of gifs of Ronaldo's goals. But I am sure he'll pick up after the International break.

Italian teams play a different style in Europe.
The defending of low rated Serie A clubs is above La Liga's average, i doubt CR7 expected that when he came here saying he wants to mark our history

Toughest league in the world where 1 team has won it 6 or 7 times in a row and the same team is the ONLY one that is relevant in any European competition. All that toughness probably takes the sting out of them I suppose.

Its just how teams setup. Parma had 9 men behind the ball even after we took the lead. Just an illustration. The quality is lacking compared to the glory years but the tactics are the same.
Even Higuain dint really set the league on fire early on before he eventually started scoring freely.
I'm sure CR will get around and adapt to the league eventually.

Look at these Serie A numpties hyping up their league's defense.
A fat La Liga reject beat a Serie A goalscoring record that stood since the 1920s. sit the *bleep* down please.

Higuain:
In Liga :
190 apps 107 goals
In Italy:
177 apps 111 goals
explain?

Toughest league in the world to score certified by many current great players and past greats as well
Presently , the most exciting league in the world to watch as well. The start to this season has been incredible, woof.

I expect this because Higuain, free from the Madrid's pressure, became better as a player (went through his full potential)

Re: Kommander watch | Juventus Edition
There were times when Higuain played really well for Madrid as well.
Honestly, I don't think the reason he still hasn't scored is because Italy has better defenses. I think he's not playing well because:
1. He doesn't have the Madrid midfield behind him anymore.
2. Even though he takes care of himself, he's slowly declining and his best years are behind him.
3. He's still adapting to your league. I remember when he first came to Spain he didn't score for a very long time, but then he improved.

He just looks like he lacks that sharpness in front of goal right now. It makes sense, it's a new season, a new team, league, country... he's definitely had the chances to have scored in every game but each time, narrowly missed or produced a save from the keeper. I can't imagine a scenario where he doesn't pull it together this season, barring injury (knock on wood)

he was exactly like this last season in la liga. it took him a few months to come back. he is getting old, he is not automatically gonna drop 40 goals for you

Re: Kommander watch | Juventus Edition
Dont think we need 40 goals from him either
If he can step up in big games in the CL and help us finally win that trophy, its more than enough

Precisely, but CR's ego will not allow it if he sees Messi continuing to pull the same numbers. He needs to continue to match Messi no matter what.

Re: Kommander watch | Juventus Edition
No, I think he'll eventually start scoring for them. He's the same guy who not too long ago scored a hattrick vs Spain and 15 goals in the CL.
You just need to channel the bulk of your chances into his direction.
I know he's declining but he's still a better goalscorer than Matuidi. If that guy can get on the score sheet, then so can Ronaldo.

I believe that's the only reason. He had a slow start for us in the past two seasons, and even if the results of his most recent medical exam indicated that he had the fitness level of a 20 year old, it's been evident for some time now that his stamina has dropped substantially since his heyday, even considering the fact that he runs and moves a lot less now. Seems to me that he just needs more time to shake off the rust, these days.
I somehow doubt he needs time to adapt to Serie A. It didn't take him a second to adapt to La Liga, and I don't buy the league A is so much tougher than league B argument that presents itself every time a player moves to a different league and has a slow start. Surely, he has some experience and success in playing against teams from all types of leagues by now, and from what I've seen, lack of service doesn't seem to be the issue.

Re: Kommander watch | Juventus Edition
23 shots and good goal scoring chances through all 3 games doesn't support anything but a lack of sharpness in front of goal for Ronaldo, I don't really have much more to say about it.
I don't believe in the defensive league narrative, teams are always extra motivated in Italy when Juventus comes, let alone when they get a player like Ronaldo in front of them.
Adapting is equal to gaining match fitness which will come with time.
I think we'll be laughing about this in a few months to be honest

Is he playing as the CF? If so this will continue, he simply does not have the skillset to do the job.

He did in the first game. Then Allegri switched back to playing Mandzo as CF and CR at LW in the next 2 games.
