It's ironic in a rather pathetic way, how you think you're being all smart and ironic yourself meanwhile Dembélé of course IS a spectacular one in a million talent which you should never get rid of.
You'll be the last one to realize it, of course, no surprises there.

He's Coman level talent. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Neymar was 2,5x the player at age of 21.

He's a good talent but you blow his abilities out of proportion.

Dude, there's like 500 million kids playing football at any given moment so 'one in a million talent' is surely not blown out of proportion

Tolisso with an ACL and meniscus tear and Rafinha the next victim of this season's Bundesliga violence vs Bayern.

The squad's getting thin, and European competitions haven't even started

Not a lot working at the moment, but the main problem now is the state of the squad.

The spine is stale and old, Robben is completely finished and simply not starter material anymore, Ribéry is still great but very old, neither Hummels, Neuer, Boateng are in good form, Müller's game is tilting over into the clumsy and donkeyish far too often. Lewandowski is his boring self.

Kimmich is worn out by being overplayed and overhyped, Renato isn't up to it, James is mediocre, Thiago is doing his best but would need a better structure around him to not lose control now and then.

The lack of investment is beyond blatant, and then the 2 main investments our club made in recent years - Coman and Tolisso (the latter being our record transfer, after all), are now long term injured.

Our attacking depth now is Gnabry and Wagner behind two 35 year olds. This is just beyond laughable. This makes the Coman injury so bad - he's the single most important player we have, which says enough. If anyone wonders whether Alfons Davies will get chances, there's not a better time to join than this winter Laughing

It's no wonder Kovac is struggling, as he would need the tool of giving an impetus from the bench to pressure the old guard, which he can't.

If the rule of thumb is to have every position covered with top competition for the starters, this is just not the case for our squad.

And then lack of finishing quality and luck is the death blow to our games, right now.

Funnily enough, while @Casciavit was repeating stereotypes about proactive and defensive managers in the sack thread, categorizing Kovac in the latter, what we saw today, in the 2nd half vs Gladbach, was a prime exhibit of coaching hipsterism.

Things will get better, maybe.

Thiago out for several weeks. This just keeps getting worse.

We are playing some terrible stuff. Barely getting by in the cup against 4th division village team. Struggling to beat AEK, lucky not to lose vs Ajax. Conceding goals vs every scrub that tries an attack.
Everyone knows the state of our squad is really poor, but I'm not sure, the longer these kind of performances go on, what Kovac can say for himself.

The game vs BVB in a couple of weeks will be important. If we get embarrassed, which looks very possible right now, it might be his time is already coming to an end.
Personally, I'm very disappointed by his work so far, while I also realize he's not the no.1 culprit for the whole sad state of this club right now. That would be Hoeneß.

Second in the table. 2 points behind Dortmund.

Stop. Would be an absolute disgrace to get rid of him. Who cares if you're eking out wins. Let the man have some time.

Then you should get rid of Hoeneß, right? But you can't do that, can you?? So Kovac has to be the fall guy???

Kovac is a dead man walking. Only problem is we have no replacement that I can think of

We'll probably get Conte lol and it will blow up when he wants a number of top attacker and Hoeness and Rummenigge buy Julian Brandt and Kramaric for him

The guy concludes the year but he will be replaced at the end of season of course
Probably not great coach but he came across in a transition phase within Bayern and he is not good as Henyckes to manage It
Time to renovate next year

That's right but the trouble is behind the scenes.

Hoeness has fucked things up badly and is untenable now, but how do you get rid of a guy who has made the club what it is over 40 years?
Rummenigge has to clean up after Hoeness following almost every public statement these days, but Hoeness can of course only be nudged towards the exit, not thrown out.

Brazzo, they employed him as a butler, an office assistant, basically. No idea what he's doing and whether he'll gain any power or profile. If he's going to, now is the time.

Kovac, a decent coach in over his head at this Bayern, no chance he survives this in the long run but I'd never blame him first. Still, of course we need to improve on him too, as we need on many in our team.
Signing Gnabry for 8m € was the worst decision this club has made in 10 years, and it's emblematic for the trouble we're in.
Thinking mediocre Bundesliga scrubs can be competitive at the top in Europe. They sign Mbappe age 18 for 150m, or Dembele age 19 for 120m, we sign Gnabry age 22 for 8m €. What could possibly go wrong here? Who could predict there would be some serious difference in quality?

Now, it's not going to get easier. We'll need to invest heavily next summer, and sure we will want to, but will we get top targets? We will try to get Fekir, maybe Pulisic, but will we get them?
Our selling point to top players, to join us, over the competition say in England was a successful, coherent, functioning team with good atmosphere, where the chances are they'll have a good time and play at the top level of football.
Now, what are we? We are a mess, with a broken board and some nobody as coach. Why play under Kovac when you can play under Klopp, Pep? Or even Emery lol? We should have gotten Tuchel, it's absolutely clear and obvious, and it's Hoeness who fucked it up.

Zidane won't go to a country where he doesn't speak the language... and his english isn't even good.

His language skills are career limiting as a manager lol.

I don't think so. It's more about opening options in the future if plan A doesn't work out (Juve)....

Highly unlikely. Between Juventus and United, it's the Red Devils who seem the closest to firing their manager.

Juventus looks pretty stable to me and I don't see why they would throw away the continuity they have built with Allegri and embark upon a new project, especially when the project they have currently is bearing fruits.

United on the other hand seems to be breathing through a straw, completely lagging behind the country's big boys and very dissatisfied with their current manager who has spent a lot yet delivered very little.

Manchester looks the likeliest destination for him.

Not saying it's realistic... just saying Zidane wants to see what opportunities are available over the summer and Juve is his top choice if the job is available.

No idea where he ends up. Zidane isn't very predictable and never has been.

Post by BarcaLearning Mon Nov 12, 2018 5:51 pm

Just caught up watching the Dortmund vs Bayern game, what a game it was, I thought Bayern actually were the better side for long periods too, and they were more unlucky to lose, the offside goal at the end, Neuer making a needless mistake for the penalty, etc., Dortmund's defense was not that great actually... but can tell some of the Bayern players are just past their best, and their midfield looks like they need an upgrade?

So why has Bayern lost their way in the off field as Hans and others said I think, they can basically buy anyone they want, but just decided to spend less this past summer or something?
