Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
Totally agree with Doc. Hiring Guti would be a risk just like hiring Zidane was a risk, but at least with Zidane it was much more calculated and he had a lot more going for him. We knew he had an eye for talent (helping with Varanasi signing), he coached at a higher level, and he was being groomed for the job by being made assistant manager. And as Doc said, we had a squad that was a recent CL winner, just unbalanced when ZZ took over. It didn’t take a genius to rebalance the midfield.
With Guti we have almost none of that. He doesn’t have the experience (yet), he doesn’t have the “legendary” status Zidane has, and he doesn’t have a peaking squad- he has a decaying old squad.
If we want Guti to be manager some day, we need to wait to see more of him in a managerial role, and give him time. The timing right now just isn’t right. I’m not saying it won’t work out, but it’s much less likely than when Zidane was appointed.

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
Not to mention that he wouldn't be able to scold them for any lack of discipline or intensity because he was one of the most undisciplined players in Madrid history.
Zidane is a BdO winner, a world champion, a European champion, and on top of that he was very professional, calm and hard-working as a player. The players had no choice but to listen to him because not only did he command respect but also he had his impressive record to back his motivational speech with.
The players would be rolling on the floor laughing if Guti tried to lecture them about discipline or consistency.

Not necessarily. Guti is said to be a very demanding coach and a good friend of Ramos

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
This idea that all you need to coach Madrid is to 1) be a former player and 2) have some experience coaching our youth team is absolutely terrible.
You have to recognize how exceptional Zidane is, and how favorable the context in which he coach the team was. Thinking this will easily be reproduced is naive.

I'm not at all for Guti lol but the players would respect him for sure. If we won't get Sarri, Wenger for 2 seasons would do for me tbh.

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
Our players are not a bunch of animals they would disrespect everyone. Why is everyone assuming that our players are savages who can't behave properly with their coaches? This is no doubt because of what happened with Benitez but Benitez made a lot of negative changes which killed him with the squad. Not every manager is going to come in and be that stupid.

True dat nick, all these talks about our players having big egos is so wrong.
They are mature and have been since Ancelottis/Zidane's leadership

that kind of contradicts your statement in the previous paragraph. that bold part emphasizes that the reason they've been mature is the leadership of ancelotti and zidane, rather than them not having egos

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
From the looks of Salah interview in Marca seems he has not forgiven Ramos n blames him for the injury
Difficult for him to come to Madrid now
Wish he replaced Bale though

I think it would have been tough regardless considering Liverpool just signed him. And now with no manager it’s even less likely.

without saying needless comments, y'all are just lost
how am I contradicting myself when I commented on their GROWTH with proper leadership. obviously the leadership helped them GROW and now it's no longer needed, since their ego died.

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
Nah, our locker-room has been just fine for a long time. They have only reacted to negative managers in 2 instances: 1) When Mou lost his mind; 2) when Benitez acted like an idiot.
Other than that, they have been just fine. You can argue that Ancelotti has excellent man management and people person skills. He came into our locker room and he let our players be who they are without trying to change that. Zidane who has been around since the Mou days, was witness to everything, and obviously he leveraged all that he saw.
But then again, Bayern players ran Carlo out of Munich the same way our players ran Benitez out. what does that say about Carlo?

Re: Transfer Rumours | Tactics | Who to buy/sell etc
Nah I claim it's different. It's been unstable until Ancelotti. His Bayern Munich tenure doesn't mean much since he doesn't speak fluent German and that makes it harder.
They grew alot under Carlo and it was noticable, and it upped Ramos leadership game. If we had another San Leaker today, Ramos would whoop his shoulder like he ruined Mo Salahs shoulder
mostly amazed by Kroos leadership, he gives 10/10 interviews

Officially, Madrid signed Rodrygo from Santos.
Santos president José Carlos Peres confirmed that Real Madrid and Santos FC reached an agreement for a sale of Rodrygo Silva de Goes for 45 million euros.
Santos FC held 80% of Rodrygo’s rights and they asked for at least 40 million euros. The remaining 20% was held by Rodrygo’s entourage and they waived any claims for a reimbursement for their share of his rights.
Rodrygo will join Real Madrid next summer after he turns 18, due to FIFA regulations on transfers of underage players.

Gimenez just renewed, don't know the contract details but it is until 2023, so that ship sailed unfortunately.

Apparently the Alisson deal is about to go through 70m (he has agreed personal terms just hammering out the final transfer figure). That is quite a bit. I'd almost rather pay 100m for De Gea, or do some swap deal for Bale.

Yeah I read that this morning. I bet Lopetegui is going to try to hold on to everyone at the start, since he might not have assurances of getting the players he wants in due to the WC. We will see though.

Note that this is according to Marca, Madrid has not confirmed it as yet. All I know of him is that in my FM save file, that fker became better than Donnaruma.
