The Sarri Era - Chelsea 18/19
So we're targeting managers who prefer the 4-3-3 with Sarri the most likely candidate. I don't believe any player rumours at present, given we have an owner who cannot enter the country, no director of Football and a manager who has only retained his job because he is yet to be replaced.
Here is how I would say things stand at present:
2nd XI:
Horrible depth and serious question marks surround Zappa, Luiz, Pedro, Morata, Drinks, and Barkley. I'd personally sell almost all of them. There is also question marks about the strength of our starting CF and CM. Can Bakayoko improve and is RLC ready? Who should we bring in to be our starting CF?
The world cup is going to throw a spanner in the works, and the longer we wait for a manager, the worse our summer will be. It's going to be a VERY busy July.
Here is how I would say things stand at present:
Courtois
Azpi Christensen Rudiger Alonso
Kante
Bakayoko Loftus-Cheek
Willian Giroud Hazard

Bakayoko Loftus-Cheek
Willian Giroud Hazard
2nd XI:
Willy
Moses Cahill Luiz? Emerson
Drinks?
Fabregas Seri?
Pedro? Morata? Barkley?

Re: The Sarri Era - Chelsea 18/19
Forgot to mention Batshuayi! What will happen to Bats? I'd love to keep him, especially if Morata goes.
Here is what I would do, if it were up to me (assuming 4-3-3):
2nd:
In:
Seri (40m)
Bailey (40m)
Alfie Mawson (20m)
Reece James (Promoted)
Batshuayi (loan-return)
RLC (loan return)
Out:
Luiz (30m)
Pedro (15m)
Morata (65m)
Drinkwater (25m)
Zappacosta (15m)
If Batshuayi brings his BvB form and RLC and Bakayoko continue their improvement, it would be a solid side. Top 4 quality.
I'd be happy with that.

Also, reports in Italy say we should get Sarri this week.

I don't think anyone will sign Luiz/Drinkwater for those prices

Re: The Sarri Era - Chelsea 18/19
Luiz's price tag has been suggested to be 30m.
But I'm not claiming to be accurate prices.

Re: The Sarri Era - Chelsea 18/19
We reportedly have no intention of selling RLC, and want to give him a 'prominent' role in the squad next season
With Courtois, Christensen and potentially RLC in a starting XI, I would call the loan army a definite success.

Re: The Sarri Era - Chelsea 18/19
Still waiting on Sarri and Seri.
Rugani seems to be a constant link but I don't understand it.
Hazard and Batshuayi scored and RLC looked solid, so our lads at the WC are doing well.

We've also been linked to Manolas, who I think is much more likely than Rugani.

Turns out Rugani interest is real. We've offered 35m pounds and are trying to agree personal terms.
Luiz seems to be possibly going to Napoli, too.

Looks like Sarri will finally happen this week.
Sarri, Golovin, Rugani and an attacker and we're set, imo.

Looks promising though.
Let's sell Willian and Tbo
Get Allison and someone else in

Sarri and Jorginho are two massive signings.
Hopefully this turns into a good summer.

I am liking the players we are strongly linked to except Higuain. $60m for a player who will turn 31 this year makes no sense.

Re: The Sarri Era - Chelsea 18/19
It is very short sighted, but if we're not going to trust Morata, Batshuayi, or Giroud, a short term option may be necessary.
I am not fond of Rugani either, I'd like to see us invest in wingers before CB's.

Feel the same, especially if we keep Luiz. Rudigar, Christensen, and Luiz all fit Sarri system.

Re: The Sarri Era - Chelsea 18/19
If Padulla is to be believed, we're going to pay Juve 45m pounds for Rugani and between 50-60m euros for Higuain. Sounds like Morata will leave, then.
I also heard Sarri is not fond of Giroud, so does that mean we will be keeping Batshuayi?
And it seems like we're being gazumped to Golovin by Monaco. I am ok with this, we have too many midfielders, especially if we don't offload Drinks or Barkley (who I constantly forget about, you guys know we signed Barkley, right?). Jorginho, Kante, Fabregas, Barkley, Loftus-Cheek and Bakayoko is more than enough in midfield, assuming Sarri can get the best out of them.

Re: The Sarri Era - Chelsea 18/19
He's better than all of our CF's.
Sure it's an expensive deal, but who would be a better option? If we get 2-3 seasons at his current form, I am happy. The only option I can think of who would be a better alternative is Icardi, and he just signed a new deal and will cost at least double Higgy's price.

I really like Golovin, dont rate Baka, Drinkwater, or Barkley. Need to get rid of Conte donkeys.
Golovin, RLC, Cesc, Kante, and Jorginho would be an amazing upgrade.

I get the feeling Barkley won't leave.
And I think Bakayoko looked very good from April or so on wards, he is clearly talented.
Drinks can go, though.

Additionally, I think getting a winger is more important than strengthening midfield. Pedro isn't good enough anymore and that leaves Hazard and Willian.

I understand that we have higher priority, but 25-30m in today’s market is peanuts.
Truely believe Golovin has the chance to be one of the best midfielders in the world, he is enermous talent. Very suited for the Hamsik/Zielenski role. Rear combination of technical skills and work rate. Kante, Jorginho and Golovin midfield is the best in the league.
