yes it's an odd fit but I think our players will easily buy into his brand of footballS wrote:Its difficult to see a guy like Sarri fit into Real Madrid's club culture. Especially when star players have always held the clout at Madrid.

Starting to buy into the idea of Wenger more than I am buying into the idea of Conte. Guti can keep kicking rocks in Juvenile.

Re: Real Madrid Next manager
Does everyone have amnesia or something lol.
Wenger hasn't been a good coach or tactician in like 5 years if not more.
He would be absolutely terrible, the Wenger who dragged the likes of Denilson, Alex Song, Squallici, Senderos etc to CL spots would have been a great appointment not this one who actively has made his players worse.

I think he is an odd fit but not because of any star players. This is something that would clash with Conte probably, not with Sarri. All of Sarri's big players like him. Higuain, Insigne, Mertens, Hamsik, Jorginho, etc. all love him.
The odd fit I see is Sarri's media appearance. I'd love to see him tell Marca reporters to *bleep* off and call Valverde a *bleep*.

My memory is pretty fine as is my opinion of Wenger. But between washed up Wenger and Conte, I rather Wenger.

I'd love to see Conte with a team like Real Madrid because it is the antithesis of Conte as a manager
I can't even picture it. I'm sure Real could do worse and I actually don't think it would be boring by any means

Re: Real Madrid Next manager
Real Madrid have approached Andre Villas-Boas over potentially becoming their new head coach, RMC reports.
The Portuguese has experience in charge of the likes of Chelsea and Zenit St Petersburg and is currently out of work.
Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the 40-year-old, who left Shanghai SIPG in November 2017.
Ufffffffffff
Make it happen pls

Re: Real Madrid Next manager
Basically, nobody wants to come in at this point because the person is doomed to fail.... you're left with the coaching scraps who either have a reputation to repair, don't have a rep lol or just want the money.
Getting aging players after a WC is another recipe for disaster.
It is what it is.

This is an unpopular opinion but I really like wenger. Think he'll have way more resources then at arsenal.

Re: Real Madrid Next manager
And if Wenger is appointed, he will finally have players he claimed to have almost signed.
But honestly the positives going for appointing Wenger would be- it will be a short term appointment, and he won't make many changes.
That's about the extent of it. I'm not totally opposed, but there are more proactive options

Re: Real Madrid Next manager
Wenger's downfall the past 2-3 years hasn't been talent or resources... it's been tactical inflexibility. He wants to win his way as opposed to concentrating on winning first.
He's just lost the plot. Hasn't evolved while the game has.

How exactly? Unless the players are idiots and can't follow instructions that has been set since he got appointed, I reckon Spain would be playing exactly how they have been since, again, his appointment. It'll be fine, more than likely.

Re: Real Madrid Next manager
Because the minute they have a bad game there's extra pressure and chatter about him not being focused etc pp
Clearly he must have taken some time off, however little, during the height of preparation time with the Spain NT to complete these negotiations.
The notion that this is detrimental to Spain's campaign will be obvious.
And conversely, the longer he stays in the tournament, the worse for Real's season preparation.

Re: Real Madrid Next manager
To be fair, assuming they get out of the group stages, any bad game would more than likely result in a KO so Spain would be out and he'll leave be Madrid bound.
As for Madrid, we'll be doing shit in La Liga anyway so for the very least, I can use this as an excuse to our inevitable shit start.

Yep reminds me of City when Guardiola was announced half way through a season.
Madrid are disgrace tbh, thinking of themselves before an entire country utterly disgusting tbh.

Best news I've heard all month. Lopetegui was the best candidate to take over our club and he did. Especially with our large Spanish contingent
