According to ElConfidencial, CR wants to become the best paid player in the world. He has wn 4 CLs with us and as a 5 times golden ball winner, he wants his contract to reflect that. He is asking for 50 millions euros net, like Messi (although i think messi's base is 40 + incentives that can reach 50), so about 80 mil gross in Spain.

Perez doesnt want to pay him that. right now he is making 21 mil net and he started complaining last summer because Messi was already around 30 i think, and then Neymar is now at 36 mil net. We offered him a pay raise to around 30 mil but it was incentive based, so he said no.

I get that it's a lot of money but I understand why he feels that way tbh.

MLS can't give him the 50 mil net he is looking for, let alone what we are currently paying him.

He still has a contract with us, and i dont see him going anywhere. he will find a compromise with Madrid in the 35 mil net range this summer because he really ha no leverage, and no market for what he is asking.

This is all about what Madrid are willing to pay to keep him happy another season. Frankly, what other choice does he have?

PSG would happily take a 33 yr old Cristiano and pay him 50M a year if they could. This is more than just PSG. They care about the world cup in Qatar as well. Getting these big personalities on board almost eliminates a potential World cup boycott and enhances their 'image' as well as long as you have guys like Buffon(and maybe Cristiano) being pro-Qatar.
