Re: World Cup 2018 General Discussion
I feel for Glik but that could be great news for us. Though Kane would have dominated him anyway.

I feel for anyone going against Kane tbh, you just feel so helpless going against such a juggernaut tbh.

Mexico players and send-off parties that involve prostitutes. As much a World Cup tradition as crappy opening ceremonies and Germany winning on penalties. pic.twitter.com/xNtcU0ij5D

30 hookers bah gawd, that's definitely a ratio of 1.3043478 girl per player, i wonder how that worked out

I've rated Glik since his Torino days. Absolute wall in the defense.

Sucks for my prediction game ranking, i rated Poland to advance from group stage. Kamil Glik is a pillar for them and i was counting on him in defense.
But in the end he is just a worthless thug, karma is a dish best served cold

Glik wasn't very good with Monaco this season if you're honest. He's the polish version of Raggi.

He's certainly more suited to Serie A tactics than any other league.

I remember he chose Spain
P.s. Harit is 78 on PES , My Midfielder
No, and to be honest I'm not sure he'd start either way, morroco is pretty complete as it is in the positions he plays

I know only a handful of players here
Wasnt Harit one of the revelations at Schalke ? @Hans
Ziyech seems to be highly rated at Ajax
Is that Munir of Barca fame ?
No idea where Belhanda plays nowadays. Was incredibly hyped at one point
And ofcourse there's Benatia and Dirar.
Anyone from Morocco here ? @farfan ?
Half morrocan (dad is from Fes)
Morrocos strength is their physicality and defense. They kept clean sheets in almost every WC qualifier game, and they bullied other teams around with their physicality. In Africa, that's not easy to do lol
which arabic country do you expect to do the best in the tournament? besides France
on paper Morocco have the best squad easy
Morroco not only have the best squad but also the best defensive organization and tactics/chemistry. That team let in 0 goals during qualifications, which against African teams is a miracle. They are harder then small European teams, especially in away games.
Tunisia is going to suprise some people with their attack, not many big names but definitely some serious pace in that attack
Not sure salah is enough for Egypt, tbh I haven't seen them much recently so I'm holding my judgement

Still freak memories from 2012?
That was hilarious...Russian fans celebrating with Russia flags in heart of Warsaw on June 12. For obvious reasons, it didn't sit well with local Poles. It was the only issue with that much-maligned tournament when BBC especially kept pushing the narrative that if your skin colour is darker than Joe Hart's or if you hug a guy in public, you're coming back home in a coffin. I still remember Sol Campbell telling everyone not to travel to Poland and Ukraine. Good times!

I have no interest in getting drunk and with pissing contest of immature fans. That's how you avoid trouble. I am treating it as a tourist trip, with perk of watching a few games at the stadium. I think I'll miss watching several games while there, actually . Too many other things to see, than wasting prime time watching Nigeria-Croatia for example.
I made a list of places I want to see in my 3.5 days in St. Petersburg...it'll be a very very tall task to see all of these, seeing the match day as well.
You aren't an outdoors/nature guy, it seems!!!
Your posts are good, been think about saying this for a while.
Thanks my man!
Just a stereotypical middle-aged Asian guy (minus bankrolling and sponsoring spoiled teenage kids abroad) with a business that likes travelling around. Nature is the beast... the older I grew the more I started to appreciate nature and natural habitats.
Thank you for your kind message and looking forward to many exchanges here.

No matter what you think of Glik this season, he's still heads and shoulders above anyone else in that Polish defence.
Pazdan was imperious in the Euros 2 years ago, but his form has since dropped off a cliff and now he has to marshall that defence. People in Poland not too optimistic from what I hear now.
Is Fabianski nailed on to start btw? Strange that the keeper of a relegated PL team will start over Gigi Buffon's hand-picked replacement, to be honest.

Mexico has reached the Semis before the tournament even began
Mexico City - Members of Mexico's national football squad held a farewell party with around 30 prostitutes before the team traveled to Europe ahead of the World Cup, reports said Tuesday.
According to the TVNotas gossip magazine, nine members of Mexico's World Cup squad partied with dozens of escorts at a private compound in Mexico City last Saturday following the team's 1-0 win over Scotland at the Aztec Stadium.
The magazine published grainy images of players arriving at the party under the headline "The true farewell of the Tri!".
However, Mexican officials said the players involved will not be sanctioned because they attended the party in their free time.
Guillermo Cantu, general secretary of the Mexican Football Federation, said the players would not be punished because "they have not missed training."
"A free day is a free day and those are the risks that one runs with freedom," Cantu was quoted as saying.
Among the players in attendance were goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and Benfica striker Raul Jimenez.
Los Angeles Galaxy brothers Jonathan and Giovani dos Santos also attended, along with defender Carlos Salcedo and midfielder Marco Fabian, who both play for Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.
The Mexico team is already in Copenhagen, where they are preparing for a friendly against Denmark on Saturday before heading on to Russia.
The controversy echoes similar scandals which have swirled around the team in recent years.
In September 2010, Mexico players partied with women after a game in Monterrey. On that occasion, all participants were fined while defender Efrain Juarez and forward Carlos Vela were suspended from the selection for six months.
In June 2011, shortly before a trip to Argentina to participate in the Copa America, Mexican players hired sex workers in a hotel in Quito, Ecuador. They were fined and suspended from the national team for half a year.

Yeah well I'm never optimistic about our team coming into tournaments. We did well at the Euros and were very unlucky against Portugal but I never expect us to do that well to reach quarter/semi finals.

Fabiański is better and I even rate Artur Boruc higher.

That list says a lot^^
Credit to teams such as Spurs, Juventus and Atletico who don't have the same spending power as the others.

Went to Times Square today to ask persons which country they’d be cheering for this summer at the #WorldCup2018 since the USMNT didn’t qualify. Popular answers I got include:
- Europe
- Barcelona
- Man United
- Africa

Not even embarrassed anymore, just annoyed.
Chicago is the right answer BTW.
Basti needs another WC title and the Cubs can't be the only franchise in the city winning shit

Harsh tbh, bet if you asked Europeans about the NFL there would be similar stupid answers.

Not similar. That tweet said "which COUNTRY..." and those answers are either continents or clubs

There's no real comparison to American sports and their being national team tournaments so obviously.
I just don't know why people are so quick to shit on them, I bet if I asked you some questions about American sports your answers would be every bit as stupid.

Of course there is for american sports.
That answer makes me really doubt this next part

but that is besides point. Its pretty funny to name any of those 4 as a response to the question.
