Does Messi deserve more criticism than Guardiola?
Think about it, since Guardiola left I think Messi has won has won 1 Balon D'or and 1 CL and to be frank first season with Suarez and Neymar aside he's pretty much flopped in the CL.
That's not to say Guardiola isn't without criticism but I feel like Messi hasn't been criticised as much as he should have.
Especially when his rival El Kommander is looking to win his 3rd CL in a row.

Kind of weak bait, but I'll play along. So Messi not only should carry Barca, but carry Barca all season, in every game? One slip up and these mongoloid thoughts pop up every which way.
Ballon d'Or is irrelevant, it isn't given to the best performance of the season, or Messi would've won it every season. He's been then best easily again this season, but even he can't carry this Barca man down to treble.

He is not a fraud. He is human meanwhile Kommander is a god and you're putting him up to KOmmander standards. Get down to earth, we're watching the greatest CL player of all time...

Re: Does Messi deserve more criticism than Guardiola?
Messi is the bigger fraud, easily. Either he has prime Xavi and Iniesta plus the most innovative coach of this century helping him to shine or he has prime Suarez and Neymar as strike partners helping him to shine. If he has neither and only a good - not great, but only good team - he disappears, just like for Argentina. What stopped him from making the difference for Argentina in at least 1 of 3 finals? Just 1 moment in over 360 minutes of football would have been enough for the supposed best there has ever been. ONE moment.
Instead we are going to believe the narrative of his fanbois that poor Messi is playing for Leganes level teams both on club and international level which are dragging him down.

He definitely deserved criticism for today. The man, as great as he is, was a legit no show bar some over bar free kicks, decent touches and passes. Even his whoscored rating reflected how poor he is.
If he is to receive all the praise whenever Barcelona win, he certainly should merit criticism when they lose and today, they lost big time.

Re: Does Messi deserve more criticism than Guardiola?
I gotta say the big difference now between Ronaldo and Messi and why everyone thinks Ronaldo is the better player, is because at the end of the day goals wins games, and Ronaldo has become the scorer even more so than before, finishing off chances in the box, and Real's team is better than Barca overall. While Messi isnt that, he does so many other things for the team but he isnt naturally the guy in the box finishing off chances, hence less goals, and the difference maker in terms of that.
In the CL vs the quality opponents they all packed the midfield area and basically set up their teams to counter Messi, whereas u wouldnt do that with Ronaldo, wont be realistic. If teams stay more usual and open in their setup Messi would run riot, and Ronaldo wouldnt be as good if u got 2 guys marking him.
This loss was down to every player and the manager as well, most of the team played badly thinking they were through already.
Anyway, what Im saying ppl probably ask too much of Messi. He does have his weaknesses and off games but overall, hes already the best there is so cant blame him for losses like these especially when they whole team played shit.

^^SO basically Ronaldo even made the smarter choice of fine tuning his game towards becoming a lethal finisher (because goals win games, and not pretty passes and playmaking).

Also , if you see Barcelona stats at the beginning of the season. They were weak , broken post Neymar departure and were empty in mid filed and attack. Relying on Sauraz first touch and old Iniesta to show magic.
Now compare the current stat where Barcelona has almost taken over the league and final of CDR.
It was Messi alone which pushed the whole team to give their best . With new boys Coutinho and Dembele adjusting to the league , there was no body on whom Barcelona could rely on.
Having said that , the Legend Deliver when it is needed and hence the title. He did not showed the magic this time and that is also a fact.
