Iran v Japan 0-0 at HT and based upon what i have seen, it will end this way and go to pk's. I have not seen any real scoring chances yet.

I guess if there was going to be a goal, it would be kinda weird. The Iranian defender stopped playing when the Japanese forward went down, I assume either cus he fouled him or the attacker dove. The defender looked to the ref while the attacker got up, ran to the ball and put in a cross, headed in by Osaka. At least this should open up the game.

The other semi final is host, UAE vs Qatar, so actually some fans in the stadium for this game. They wont be happy with the goal they conceded, keeper looked very weak.

I dont know a lot about middle eastern football, they seemed very exuberant about the game, but could not play very well. I seem to recall one of my sat stations from 10-15 years ago showing the Qatari stars league and international football. Back then, it seemed a lot of imports were playing for the Qatari national team, I dont see a lot, or any of that in this team, neither team actually.

I am against Qatar hosting the WC for various reasons, but I will say, they seem to be building a decent football infrastructure for themselves.

Wow, Qatar actually cucked both Saudi and UAE in their own home turf. I don't like them much, but mad respect to Qatar.

Qatar win the Blockade Derby rather easily, some throwing of plastic shoes, and bottles by the Blockaders after the 3rd goal, but all in all, has not really turned into a Millwall match...yet

It seems Qatar are the new powerhouse of Asian football. Still time for Japan though.

I am no Qatar fan, but anyone who just says "rigged" is just pure NPC.

- Tournament was hosted in UAE, Qatar's second biggest geopolitical enemy
- Their fans couldn't even buy a ticket to semi-final, because UAE got all tickets
- Qatar won ALL 7 matches in normal time
- Scored TWENTY and conceded ONE all tournament.

Easily one of the most deserved Asian championships of all time. and I've been following this tournament since 1996.

Carlos Queiroz also just revealed Qatar paid for ALL of Iran's preparation, hotels, camp, even friendly match vs. Venezuela before this tournament as Iran's Ministry of Sport doesn't like football and Queiroz and refused to cough up any pennies.

Not only that, they played really really well throughout the tournament, i've watched almost all their matches and it might seem biased but they are playing at an almost European level, 1 goal conceded is nothing to scoff at, not to mention the amount of goals forced.
