Re: The Ganso race.
fishball wrote:rsinatra, is ganso fragile or he was just unlucky with his latest injuries?
That's the thing. When he was a teenager, I think he got a serious injury, but after that he was apparently fine for years, perhaps with the occasional minor injury that every player has at times.
Then last year, as we all know, he suffered another serious injury. I blame his long legs, he keeps trying to stretch them all the way to keep the ball, even when he is falling lol. Anyway, it could've happened to anyone.
Then he came back late in February, and I think the problem was simply that he wasn't slowly introduced back into the team. Because he is so vital for Santos, he was already playing 90mins every week, and then with the Libertadores and the Paulista State Championship, he was playing every 3-4 days. Take Kaká for instance, they took their time in introducing him back because he wasn't so needed, but there was no extra patience regarding Ganso's case.
It wasn't just Ganso, about a handful of other Santos players have been getting injuries in the past few months because of this schedule overload.
However, the Santos doctors say that his latest injury (which would initially keep him out for 6 weeks, but now it's apparently/fortunately been reduced to less) is not because he played too much, but rather because of an unlucky incident (he sort of fell, and tried to support himself by kneeling with one leg, while the other one tried to keep ball in his possession). So, if that's right, then I don't know what to say. Apparently his muscles are much stronger than last year, on both legs, and he should be able to take more. I think we should wait and see, you know? If in a couple of months he is injured and out for more than a month again, and then again.. I'd start to say he might be becoming the new Pato.. but hopefully it won't happen.
PS. there's also the fact that Neymar and Ganso are pretty much the most marked players on the pitch, so the opponents can get extra violent with them. But Neymar seems to be able to take more.. probably because he just dives before the opponent can actually hurt him lol.

Milan have made numerous trips to Brazil to talk about Ganso.

It's a one horse race!
...or at least I hope it is. I haven't heard much about Ganso and other clubs recently, however the transfer period is a long, unpredictable, and sensationalised one... and we're not even a week into it!

Re: The Ganso race.
AC Milan remain interested in doing a deal for Santos star Paulo Henrique Ganso.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan chief Ariedo Braida is flying to Brazil this week and intends to take in Santos' Copa Libertadores clash.
Braida hopes to see Ganso in action and hold more talks with Santos over the player's fee.
Milan remain hopeful of talking down Santos' asking price - with the Brazilians still referring any interested club to the player's buyout clause.

Hmm, I read that Lucas from Sao Paolo is actually the highest rated/expensive player in Brasil at the moment. I read he was rated first, then Neymar, then Ganso

What? lol you've been misinformed. I think Lucas is the most expensive atm, but he's not as highly rated as either one. I think people pretty much agree that he is not at Neymar's level, I'm not even sure he'll ever be as good as Neymar when both are older.. but he still is above average and pretty good.
It's hard to compare Neymar and Ganso, because they are different. I for one would take the latter over the former. And either one of them over Lucas. But I wouldn't mind have the three of them in my team

Re: The Ganso race.
I havn't watched Ganso that much to say the truth, only Neymar.
Is Ganso a Rivaldo type player? I've heard that comparison while I've heard Neymar can more be compared to a Ronaldinho type

If Ganso is intelligent he will go to Inter. Because he is already an injury-prone player. And Milan's health department is the worst of the planet.

Re: The Ganso race.
Neto brought a news on Tuesday, March 7, which promises to shake up the football world. According to information from Brazil, midfielder Paolo Henrique Ganso has been already sold to AC Milan.
"An executive told me yesterday that Paolo Henrique Ganso was sold to ACMilan and Gillette [sponsor of the player] will make a propaganda there in Italy.

Heard this as well, it would really be awesome if it's true. We'd finally have a competitive squad for next season's UCL

There's no way pato would ride the bench plus that formation of yours would never be considered by allegri.

He'd most likely play as a CAM behind ibra and either of pato, robinho or cassano

Abbiati
Abate Silva Nesta/Mexes Taiwo
Boateng VanBommel/Flamini Mr X/Ganso
Ganso/Mr X/Cassano/Robinho
Ibra/Casano Robinho/Pato
Say what you want about Milan, but you cannot deny we've got damn good depth especially up front.

Ganso works better as a CAM. If you buy him, please don't mess him up . Like Juve did with Diego.

It's a good team but not to many Italians in it.

Re: The Ganso race.
There are reports on Brazilian websites such as globoesporte.com that AC Milan will be watching Ganso on the Libertadores final.. they plan to contact Santos, see how his fitness is (aka if he's injury prone or not), etc, and then make a final bid... in July... :S NO!
