We can rest some players. Playing Leganes and Valencia around these games.

What is this magic? First easier draw since Leverkusen 2012?
Now watch them eliminate Barca.

This is good match for Messi for some "crucial knock-out round" stat padding.

Messi vs Fazio poor lad was always getting roasted with Sevilla, moved away to Italy and Messi still after him

You're a dick.
In 2015, when won the whole thing, we had Man City in 1/16, PSG in 1/4, Bayern in 1/2 and Juventus in the final.
In 2016, we had Arsenal in 1/16 and we got eliminated by Atletico in 1/4.
In 2017, we had PSG in 1/16 and went out against Juve in 1/4.
In 2014, Man City in 1/16 and Atletico in 1/4
If anything, this is the first season since 2012 that we have gotten an easy opponent in the knockout rounds!

calm yo tits, my post was obviously taking jab at that most whining barca fan
but usually i dont care much who we drew and definitely not my rival
because we always aim for champion, and we'll just have to beat everyone.

Roma is certainly a better side than Sevilla. So probably, he is saying the same thing.

Re: UCL QF : Barcelona Vs AS Roma
I'll be satisfied if we at least make Barca work hard for their win. We're clearly and rightly underestimated, although that is when we have been at our best this season. Our worst moments have come against lesser opponents mostly.
Messi will score. It's as certain as death and taxes. Need to be brave for 120 minutes and not be overawed or intimidated. Need to take notes from Chelsea in that 2nd leg. They did a lot more right in that game than wrong.

Re: UCL QF : Barcelona Vs AS Roma
So it looks like we'll be without Cengiz Under and likely Lorenzo Pellegrini for the first leg. Cengiz is a blow for sure given his form. Perotti will start on the right probably. Pellegrini is not a starter, but has been getting a lot of minutes this season. This means Gonalons will very likely be in the frame for a start.
Most worrying of all, Nainggolan will not be 100% for this match.
An already exceedingly difficult task has just gotten much more difficult.

Re: UCL QF : Barcelona Vs AS Roma
With the injuries maybe this?
Alisson; Kolarov, Fazio, Manolas, Florenzi; Strootman, De Rossi, Gonalons; El Shaarawy, Dzeko, Perotti
With that midfield its just gonna be (even more) defending all day at the camp nou.

Re: UCL QF : Barcelona Vs AS Roma
Didn't Roma barely get past Shakhtar? On away goals I think
Busquets will be back in the team so we'll probably field the same line-up as against Chelsea.
I expect this to be a smooth cruise. Messi will smell blood and take us to the final. I'm only wary of Bayern as of now, hope we don't stumble upon them

Yes. 1-2 in Ukraine and 1-0 at home. No one expects Roma to qualify, it'd be a miracle.

Barcelona got lucky with this draw. I see a relatively easy win.
Regardless, they will be out next round.

Looks like Nainggolan and Pellegrini made it into the team after all. Both are not 100% though, but should play a part so that's promising. We definitely need Nainggolan in midfield against the likes of Busquets, Iniesta and Rakitic. Having him even at 70% is better than not at all. EDF may consider Gerson over Gonalons anyway, but I think the latter works better because of his defensive ability.
Under was left off the squad list so it will definitely be Perotti up top, but I wouldn't mind seeing Defrel get a run out. He's better defensively than Perotti.
Either way, the objective is to leave Camp Nou with a draw (preferably with an away goal) and faliling that a low-scoring loss (let's say 3 goals conceded max). Either of those occurs, most Romanisti would consider that a success.
Barca without Messi look beatable. Problem is.....Messi's playing.

I predict a 3-1 win for Barcelona tonight...which wouldn't necessarily be a catastrophic result for Roma. Will keep the tie nicely poised ahead of the return leg.
