Hapless_Hans wrote:That the finalists of the AFCON had to fight a playoff for one spot against each other is fucking tragic, honestly. Africa needs more spots.
Noone needs 3 of Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, one or two suffice. Switzerland and Austria, let them play an Alpine playoff before spamming the qualifying rounds.
Let alone Wales, Scotland, and England, we don't need these silly quasi-nations in there. Let them be the UK and that's it. And reunite fucking Yugoslavia while were at it, here's an idea, Czech and Slovaks could go together too. Poland can join Germany. It's just too much.
Me counting the number of countries still left in the world after this

Thank you my man
You guys will always be our brothers . Some of the guys here know this but I’m morrocan on my dads side. So I’ll be supporting Morocco as well. I hope Tunisia makes it to the knockout stages. Small countries are starting to do better and better in international tournaments.. it would be nice to see. Team USA as always as well.

48 teams mean more money income, money that will be reinvested in football infrastructures around the world. It might be less high level competition but Infantino's priority has always been the future of football.

Appreciate the kind words and support, Fennec.
I don't think we will make it out of the group stage, but I hope at least that we will put in a decent performance.

Yeah I hear you but all they have to do is reduce number of European teams to achieve the same.
African and Asians teams playing Hunger games or Squid games to send 1 team while someone like Switzerland qualifying after playing only Italy, Bulgaria, Northern Ireland and Lithuania a couple of times. 3/4 teams that made that breeze of that group are below atleast 5 decent non European teams that will not qualify due to the slots and brutal play offs.

I was joking
A better representation for Africa and Asia is perhaps the only positive aspect of this horrible new format. If you think giving them a spot each from Europe would have been simpler and better then i agree with you.

Re: Mo Salah appreciation thread
We qualified in 1986 (i was extremely surprised by this)
We will be there officially in 2022 !! And then 2026 we auto qualified as hosts. I'll try to attend a match in Toronto but i suppose it will be near impossible to find tickets.

Wasn't actually a bad performance.
Had the best chances for Liverpool, from relatively awkward angles, which were well saved by Courtois.
There is a GK to play against, if you are not aware.

Agreed did he alright nothing overly amazing but he showed up and put in a good shift, shouldn't have publicly talked about revenge though when they already lost last year and got knocked out, but instead acting like it was a given to win the finals, he is just asking to be trolled.

Re: Mo Salah appreciation thread
@LS he didn't play against the keeper, he shot most of his good chances straight at Courtois. Any other keeper would have performed the same with such poor finishing.
But I agree he had a good performance other than that

Some of the shots were at the keeper, but he had two efforts that were tricky to save.
Of his chances, the only one see he could direct differently was the header. Otherwise, he was forced to difficult angles which he could do little about.
So, while RM mostly neutralized him, he still managed to have some good chances. I think that's a good performance, since if one of his two great shots went in, people will be climbing the roof about them.
