Purely because our squad was decimated by injuries and Mourinho chose to focus on the EL in the last couple of months of the season, before that we were on track for fourth, and it was a masterlcass from Mourinho in the end since we won it.
That's exactly our situation right now. Replace EL with CL.
What? Who are you missing besides a couple mediocre CM's? Emre f'n Can? Ox who just got injured? who else? you better not list your scrubby fullbacks, these youngsters you have are an improvement over the likes of Clyne. Half of our starting 11 were out majority of last season from Jan onwards, including our best player Zlatan which is like you losing Salah.
We have a total of 13 fit first team players in the squad. We have 0 flexibility changing any player in the first 11. No defenders, Now no midfielders on the bench and we never any had flexibility with our attack.

Daily Mail wrote: According to the Daily Mail, a young Salah was once playing in Alexandria when his family were robbed.
The man responsible was caught and arrested a few days later, and it was Salah's father's intention to press charges against the perpetrator.
But his ever-humble son had other ideas, and talked his dad into dropping the case.
Not only this, but Salah then gave the man some money to help him out financially, before taking it another step further and helping him find a job.
The gesture says a lot about the character of the 25-year-old, who Liverpool fans will be hoping can lead their side into the semi-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Time for another African balon d or imo
I'd be strange if it is Salah to break the Ronaldo-Messi supremacy but hell I think everyone agrees that he deserves it if Liverpool win the Champions League
Who cares of World Cup.

If Liverpool wins the CL, he'll have a pretty good shot of winning the Ballon d'Or.
The only hurdle I can think of that might impede him from winning it is if Messi wins the WC with Argentina. LaLiga + CdR + WC would be a lot for a CL to handle.
But I agree, in terms of talent alone, Salah has surely done enough to be a very strong contender for it.

Or if France win the WC and Griezmann goes in a Euro-esque rampage during that run...

Re: Mo Salah appreciation thread
Really hope Salah can become the 1st player to break the Ronaldo-Messi cycle. it starts by a win on Saturday .
IMO at the moment :
1-Salah
2- Messi - Cr7
3- Griez
4-Kevin DB - Neymar
If Cr7 wins the CL, put him first and Salah equals to Messi .
Then the WC . Imo Griez and Neymar are the ones who can really shine in June. the rest not so much .

Yes, the WC has always outweighed all the other competitions. So if a player performs really, really well in the WC with their NT ending up the world champion, they have a pretty good chance of winning the BdO ahead of someone who won the CL or even the double.
So yes, Griezmann can win the BdO, but he really has to go God Mode throughout the entire WC and be a heavy contributor to France's WC triumph.

I absolutely hope he doesn't win the CL. IMO, based purely on the season though, he has been a level above CR7 and Messi. He 100% deserves it based on individual ability, just doesn't have the trophies to back it up. For me though, I'll remember Salah as the best player in the world in 17/18 regardless.

Re: Mo Salah appreciation thread
Definitely. He has been superior to both Messi and Ronaldo this year. A CL win would definitely increase his chances of winning the BdO exponentially.
He'll definitely make the last three finalists though, regardless of whether or not he wins a major trophy. He has been head and shoulders above the rest.

Remember when there were times this was fraud was considered better than the likes of Hazard and the best player ever in the PL ? People get so mislead be scoring stats they forget that football is much more than that. CR's marketing team destroyed football, people nowadays don't care that you play shit for 90 minutes if you score a tap-in

Well, stats would led you to believe that CR is a better creator than Iniesta.
