A Liverpool fan talking about money well spent is the very definition of irony. Keep at it troll. Your team has spent more than that in the last few years on shitty players.

Re: Gattuso Sack watch
really. coutinho signed for 8.5mil sold for 150mil. mane signed for 35mil now worth 60mil. salah signed for 36mil now worth 150mil. fermino signed for 28mil now worth 50mil. matip signed for free now worth 25mil. robertson signed for 8mil now worth 20mil. gomez signed for 3.5mil now worth 15mil. the list goes on. how much profit would milan make on that 300mil they spent on scrubs if they tried to sell themGiancarloC wrote:Unique wrote:milan scubbing hard after blowing 300mil and this guy is giving out contracts as easter presentsLuca wrote:Mirabelli: "We are approaching Easter, inside our egg we will find the contract renewal for Gattuso"![]()

A great man Gattuso, and no wonder Italian national team hugely went down after his fall from prime and retirement.
The only time I've seen a football player more passionate than Gattuso during national anthem being played, is when Jong Tae-Se balled his eye out before North Korea-Brazil match in 2010.
Hope Gattuso brings Milan back. A super house of a club and true royalty of an institution. Really hope they also bring this jersey back, one of the finest there has ever been.

where are all of those loud Mehlan fans that were hyping this scrub a few months ago? your team is terrible. Need to can him this summer and go all out for a Guidolin or a Mancini type. About your level but an upgrade.

Re: Gattuso Sack watch
can't believe they extended his contract for a few decent results halfway through the season
friendly reminder that he still isn't fit to lick Montella's shoes

that aside, any chance Milan realize the error of their ways and go for an actual coach this summer?

Re: Gattuso Sack watch
I dont know how long Gatusso's contract is so it can be an expensive mistake.
They should throw money at Conte or Sarri if they are available. Even Giampaolo if he doesn't go to Napoli because Sarri stayed.

Re: Gattuso Sack watch
took a crappy squad to within 5 minutes of CL football...best Milan coach in the last half a decade. Unreal disrespect to a club legend tbh. You know there was board pressure on him to step down. Hope they get stuck with Ranieri or someone next.

Never seemed the type that can become a good coach
So it was nice to see him doing pretty well. Sad to see him go and look forward to when he manages next.

I know there are like 3 Milan fans here (the rest are hiding, stop hiding you bastards) but I would like to know their actual thoughts on Gattuso and his tenure.

Kinda sad to see another semi-iconic player to fail to make it as manager. Doubt we're seeing him any time soon.

As terribly inductive in reasoning as this may sound; Gattuso as a manager has similar reflections to Gattuso as a player.
We all knew Gattuso the player; but what many did not seem to know is behind the aggression and tenacity was a very potent footballing mind and when he had to, an impressive distributor of the ball. As otherwise anyone with heart and will can replicate his excellence.
Where his downfall as a player occasionally was, was within his passion itself and got the better of him and his head on occasions.
As a manager he had a great deal of ideas and of course implemented his signature disciplinarian principle to the squad and was loved by basically any player not named Bukakayoko. Yet where it was held back was his stubbornness and rigidity to adapt to ideas needed within situations or to the squad itself and was slow to learn from mistakes, but rather chose to press on with his ideas of the game. Aesthetically our football had the potential to be pleasing but the midfield could not carry the technical limitations of what was an unrealistic use of his formations and for me his biggest downfall is that like as a player, the emotion of the game got to him and prevented him from seeing openings and problems that were glaring.
The tenure was at most what you expect for a squad that was hastily bought together from hedge fund money and while he could have used it better this is at most the best he could have done, and signs of improvement were being shown but by the nigh end of the season the mentality of the squad was spent with little leadership in the lockeroom bar Gattuso being the sole motivational factor in the locker room itself (in professional football motivation should be a default).
As he grows and is matured into the game along with his famous hot head, I do see him becoming a good if not fantastic manager. But passion can only get you so far on the sidelines and like in business, emotion counts for little in that spectrum and until he does not let that side control his decisions, he wont fulfill what I see is strong potential to be very good.
We all wish him the best and his refusal of that sum of money out of his legendary love and respect for the club, has further immortalised him in our hearts and all will agree in his greatness of character.

Re: Gattuso Sack watch
It was right for him to leave. He's a great man, but as a coach, he isn't the guy to help the club achieve higher levels.
In terms of his football, I think at times we played quite good. I always thought at least in the first two phases of play we were quite decent on the ball and we moved it around quite well. In fact, I thought we moved it around better than any coach since Allegri. Then again, maybe that's because he had the best crop of players since Allegri too.
In the final third, we were pretty dire. Our playing style revolved around playing attacking midfielders as wingers who spammed crosses into the box. Maybe that would be fine if your attacking midfielders were players like Ronaldinho or Messi, but they were fucking Calhanoglu and Suso. Two incredibly inconsistent players who quite frankly aren't that talented anyway.
What you get is shitty football in which the CF is isolated, Kessie is scoring most of your goals, the fans are booing the wingers for playing awful, and that someone like Bakayoko looks like your star player because he was slightly less shite than everyone else.
As for the future, I'm not too optimistic. Leonardo left because he thinks Milan need more experienced and expensive players to make it to the top. Gazidis wants U23 players to build around instead.
AKA
Milan is going to turn into Roma. We are going to sell our best young players for profit and turn into Ajax/BVB/Monaco. It's a shame to see.

More like Arsenal than those you named.
P.S. But it will probably be only for a couple of years, Elliot wants to sell the team, that's what they always do.
