Predestination is pretty good too.

I really liked Safety Not Guaranteed, though it's probably not what you were going for.

Primer, if you don't mind being confused.

Time Lapse sort of fits.

Project Almanac is decent.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Donnie Darko, 12 Monkeys, Terminator, Groundhog Day, Edge Of Tomorrow, X Men Days Of Future Past, Looper, Back To The Future.

From TV shows, Dark, Madoka Magica and Steins;Gate are really good.

Watched Icarus yesterday

Man what a movie ffs. Bowled over by this masterpiece. I just vaguely remember about Russian athletes being banned for doping some years ago as i barely follow Olympic sports but this takes it a whole new level.

Wonder how many uncovered truths of this scale is yet to surface. But it probably wont happen because it could potentially destroy the legitimacy of an entire sport. This documentary brutally exposes Russia but i think many other countries follow these practices IMO.

Following this up with The Armstrong Lie. Watching it right now.

Saw Annihalation yesterday

9.5/10

Garland is incredible, the theme, the palette, the acting, the music

And that ending, holy shit

Its like a spiritual sequel to Deus Ex Machina

Probably one of the best this year

More people need to comment on Annihilation.

Surely I can't be the only one who found it decent at best.

I mean I know what he was trying to go for with the direction and story, but nothing jawdropping or exciting tbh.

Starting to think his sci-fi isn't my cup of tea. He tries to be all lowkey ambiguous and shit, sort of like a soft Kubrick touch. But in the end the character growth/arcs fall flat somehow and I just don't care for them at all. Plus it's not thrilling and high-paced to begin with, so there's not much for me to latch onto except for some half-fleshed sci-fi concepts.

It really is. Love low budget films like that.

Thought the ending was incredibly sad.

Such an incredible film. The kinds of film you'd expect an upcoming GOAT to make.

And he hasn't made a movie since

It's an indie masterclass at filmmaking.

He needs to get up off his ass and start working on the next one.

Totally forgot he directed Source Code, but yeah, maybe thats the one exception. I liked the premise, Groundhog day-esque. But thats more so cause i like these type of movies, Edge of Tomorrow and time loop stuff.

Watched this nice little indie film called Short Term 12. I can see why a lot of people call it one of the best films of 2013, it was really well acted and had fantastic character development. Its in my top 5 for that year definitely.

Freeza where did you see You Were Never Really Here?

Totally forgot about that film, couldn't find it anywhere for a while. Surely it will get a wide release this year and then I'll consider it for my 2018 list.
