We desperately need a LB, GK, AM and CF.

The 4 players who currently occupy those spots are so much worse than the rest it's unreal.

I have said this before but i genuinely believe upgrading in those positions would make a massive difference such is the ineptitude of those 4 players.

If Rafa stays as the manager, he isn't going to buy any of those. He will most likely buy low key players who have great potential. Mainly from La Liga.

Raise them expectations.

Can't wait to see Mole's reaction when the entire Newcastle team is fed to Reigns to make him look strong.

In all seriousness though I have no idea where the Vince buying us rumors came from lol.

I know they were rampant from 2011-14 but I genuinely don't know how lol.

I suspect if he ever took over a club he'd try to get the rules completely changed lmao.

Well, though Torres did get prominence by the time we signed him (he was still pretty young, mind it), Alonso grew into a great player during his Liverpool days. Add to that the likes of Riise, Sissoko, Kyut etc. and it's obvious that Rafa prefers potential talents rather than high profile players.

Congratulations to Mole.

I think we've all had to follow Mole's emotional journey from when Ashley bought Newcastle for £100m to the humiliation to the club via his antics to alienating Newcastle fans and Mole, to point in which (feigned) apathy became his thing towards the club and understandably so.

This confirms in my mind that Rafa will stay given he is loved, in a city who is built around the club and the ceiling is too high to just walk away.

Shame they aren't English owners but far better that the autocracy that was Ashley.

What about Higuain hmm

Also i'm pretty sure he wanted some high profile players at Liverpool like David Silva but obviously Hicks and Gilette were scum.

Rafa has been our manager for 18 months now, what i have learnt is he doesn't just look for talented players that fit his system and players he has but players which fit in terms of character in the dressing room.

If a player fits into those dynamics he won't hesitate regardless if the profile is high or low.

OK, let me explain a bit more (since I only spoke half the truth in the earlier post). I think Rafa is not that keen on high profile players. You are spot on when you said he looks for players (who are technically gifted) who would fit his system. And he is ready to supplement the young players with some experienced ones.

He did fancy Silva, Villa and even Ribery (just before he moved to Bayern) but I would like to stress the point that none of them actually attained the 'marquee' status at that point.

Anyway, most important thing is (which everyone has forgotten and you are so intelligently avoiding), this calls for a treat. #NoExcuse :coffee:

I think it's just he's very strict with what he looks for and high profile players doesn't tick every box.

If they did i don't think he'd hesitate, it's just a lot of high profile players have an ego he'd probably not want in his dressing room.
