well if you take a different approach and change the line up that has to be tacticalGreat Leader Sprucenuce wrote:No i didn't, i was talking about mental approach, lineup decisions which changes when it matters for big games.
Nothing to do with tactics.

Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:His system isn't the problem, nor are his tactics.
He loses because he overthinks things in big CL away games, he goes away from what works.
Shit like benching De Bruyne, playing an extra midfielder and mucking around with his defence is something he does away from home in the CL consistently.
He then goes back to what works every single in the second leg and usually wins the game but loses the tie because he goes all Catenaccio in the first leg.
This goes all the way back to his days with Barcelona, he got rid of Eto'o in exchange for Ibra because he feared they were "becoming too predictable".
It's been an issue his entire career, winning or losing. He has a real problem with trying to fix something before it's even broken, that's his issue and why he's struggled comparatively to his early Barca days nothing else.
Well overdue you found the words to see the problem you have been trying to put your finger on when it comes to Pep, and it is correct.
Cute as the trend is to prey upon his losses despite being the best in the world as a manager; the actual problem is within his struggles to his own obsessive compulsive tendencies.
Pep has been known to become a more silent but anxious figure during the biggest moments of his tenures against the biggest teams (Mourinho has been documented to bring that side out in him) and if we know how the brain works, orbitofrontal cortex basically is crashed with overload of information that becomes perceptible in the form of such acute compulsive ways; usually in Pep I have noticed from repeatedly scratching his (destitute) head, the neck crank of his when we is talking, simply nodding along to the questions of the reporter to occasional outbursts not usual to his character.
Calling it a hipster way is a more (fun) and simplified way to put it but a lot of his unnecessary tinkering simply comes down to one thing, perfectionism.
And only this year I learned how that can be ones greatest weakness and just hinders a process rather than augmenting it, and his line-up selection in the first leg versus Spurs was a prime example of just that.
And until he manages to control that side of him, he will likely never win a CL.
Make of it what you will.

Yes. Especially current Ronaldo. The only thing would be his workrate off the ball throughout the season due to his age.

Anyone who would leave Bernardo and KDB for Matuidi and Bentancur is a mad man TBH.

This is unprecedented and it probably means that City expect heavy sanctions from UEFA. Those should come out next week.
Well, for those who didn't think Pep had motives to leave, no you have them.

Re: Pep Guardiola - King of the Carabao Club
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the article states that City have filed an appeal with CAS against UEFA? If so, then it's not really unprecedented because it was done before by many clubs including Barça and Madrid. Madrid even managed to alleviate the ban down to a year (or even removed it completely, I'm not sure).
Also, even during the appeal, City is free to buy and sell whoever they want. It's when CAS rules against them that the ban comes into play.
And let's be honest, City is insanely stacked. Even if you banned them for a window or two, they would still remain the most stacked team in England and probably Europe as well.
The bald fraud is not going anywhere. He has a stacked team that can survive the winter, a bottomless reserve of cash and a fat pay check. He'll continue to dominate England and get knocked out in the QF of the CL for years to come.

It's not a transfer ban that's the problem DoC, this is a ban from the CL.
Still I don't think much will come of it, City has money and power.

Oh I see. Thank you for the clarification.
So they might get banned from the CL and people believe Pep would leave if it happened? Please, he would welcome it with open arms. An entire season without the fear of judgement for not winning the CL? "Sign me up!", the bald fraud says.

Even if they did get banned from the CL it wouldn't take place until 2020/2021 at the earliest, or so I've read.

What are they doing !
Instead City should be banned from winning the league so that only Spurs and Liverpool can compete for the EPL.

Re: Pep Guardiola - King of the Carabao Club
DoC, I believe the CAS appeals by both Barca and Madrid were against rulings by FIFA not UEFA. And those appeals were about transfer bans!
This one is really odd as they are being investigated for FFP violations by UEFA and also by EPL! I don’t believe anyone has actually been banned from CL yet, though this has often been mentioned. I believe penalties thus far have been financial, usually restrictions against offending clubs. Also there is legal debate as to whether FFP rules can withstand a legal challenge. Both City and PSG have been playing games and basically challenging these rules for a number of years now. I suspect that is what this is all about. UEFA having enough of this oil money games and talking about CL suspensions, likely in addition to financial penalties / restrictions. City challenge is likely a beginning of a prolongated legal challenge. Don’t expect any changes soon!

LOL at anyone thinking City will get a CL ban, lmao we managed to overturn an EL ban thanks to CAS, now imagine what Mohammed bin Zayed can do. If he has to line up UEFA's coffers, then so be it. At most, maybe a squad restriction, but nothing so dramatic like a CL ban.

I'm sure that's why they're doing something that nobody has done before, asking CAS to stop UEFA before giving out any actual sentence.

Re: Pep Guardiola - King of the Carabao Club
Manchester City’s ability to take legal action against Uefa in the event of the club being banned from the Champions League may be limited by a memorandum of understanding agreed with the European football’s governing body in February. The document - negotiated and signed by the European Club Association of which City is a prominent member - commits ECA clubs to “the explicit exclusion of [using] any State court” to challenge the enforcement of Financial Fair Play regulations.

Yeah it seems like Citeh and Qatar are the only clubs not taken into consideration by FFP. Probably could also add Barca to that lot.
Still seems funny coming from the guy who manages a 300m euros defense line
