Not a regular scorer in CL but he did score some clutch goals at Barca in the knockout stage.

What a champ. What a legend. Sticking it to Madrid on the last day. Has become even more of a Barca legend. Miss you El Pistolero.
One of the game's all time great strikers with an all time great clutch league season. How many games did he turn for them? How many defeats did he turn into draws and how many draws into wins? I cant think of a more clutch league season and that too at the age of 34. Goes to Atletico and makes them champions.
He is far cry from his unplayable peak when he was a force of nature and the best striker that I have seen. Can barely run now but has the mentality of a champion and willed Atletico to the title.

I personally rate him very very high. I think the only 4 I would rate definitely higher would be Di Stefano, Pele, Maradona and Messi.
Then there are others like Zico, Garrincha etc who get romanticized too much. Zico especially. Then you have the modern legends like Romario, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho etc. Dont think any of them are definitely better over their careers. Suarez is Top 10 definitely imo.

Best striker in the past decade at least?

Just goes to show no matter how a team like Atletico has in other areas, u still need a special player with the qualities to make the difference to win things I guess.

Lewy's superior UCL-stats over Suarez easily gives him the edge as best #9 of past decade.

Suarez has mostly been a disasterclass in UCL, a big stain for his legacy.

Suarez made 0 goals in 5 games this season, didn’t scored away goal in 5 years & only made 5 goals in 30 games between 2016-2019.
