Beautiful episode. I don't even like Brienne much and that still made me teary eyed

Found the first episode much better tbh, felt like a bottle episode, saving the budget for the next episode. No actual storyline, just characters chatting. Meh.

Still there were some good moments.

How is it meh man? GoT was at its best when it had characters just chatting. Don’t understand the logic that in order for an episode to be good, you need lot of high octane stuff happening. I am reading a lot of comments from people about how you could squeeze the first two episodes into just 1. They have so much lust for action that they want to see it all the time in every episode. Sigh. IMO them taking 2 episodes to set the tone for the intense battles ahead is the best thing they have done, after all those pathetically rushed episodes we have been having in the past seasons. Here, by taking ample time and addressing every arc, they have brought back that emotional chord somewhat which was missing of late.

Yeah agreed. GoT has sorely missed episodes like this where the characters are the focus and development is the focus. The dialogue was as sharp as ever too. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

That Sansa and Theon scene was amazing.

Also it must be the first time we have seen Brienne smile. That was a great scene.

Great scene after great scene. Really all of it was awesome. So much closure and such a good job at setting the tone for the end. This battle is gonna be crushing.

Grey worm talking about the future = 100% dead

Feels like Brienne will die too. Her arc is finished.

Also the amount of times they said the crypts are safe...definitely not safe.

Hope Theon survives. but doesn't look great for him either.

Also think Tyrion will come up with some great plan like blackwater. Him talking to Bran seems very important.

With the great battle happening next week and then 3 more episodes after that....something is definitely not right.

Yea a badass Tyrion strategy is coming after all these failed ones. It’s high time we get that old Tyrion back. As Sansa said, the cleverest man in Westeros. We havent seen that cleverness for a while now. Ever since he joined the company of Danaerys, he has gone to shit.
So yea I feel he might be the one who turns the tide int the battle. All these buildup to Dany doubting Tyrion, I am excited to see how it pans out.

Also to the deaths list I would also add

Tbh The council is full of men with no purposes. Tyrion, Davos, Jorah and Varys. None of them have any role or purpose anymore. It's quite sad how someone like Varys who was such a massive character from season 1 to 6 has now resorted into being a nobody. I mean shouldn't he have known about Cersei with his network?

But i can't see any of them dying just yet. Jorah got the sword so he will go on some good killing spree.

I liked this episode a lot better than the previous one. Actual dialogue instead of one liners. The LOTR singing scene with Jenny's song and Brienne being knighted will do down as one of the series's best moments.

The only point of Grey Worm/Missandei scene was to confirm one of them is dying.

Tyrion has been an absolute idiot since end of season 4. Tricked by scrubs in Meereen, tricked by Jaime, tricked by Cersei, he is the most incompetent character in the show. His entire purpose since season 5 seems to be to fail and get taken to task by Daenerys and drop one liners like "I drink and I know things" Such a shame what happened to the best character of the show.

So true about Varys. He is reduced to saying stuff like Nothing lasts and then stay in the background for whole of 2 episodes. Such a shame. Re: Varys's little birds, I think Qyburn gave them cookies made them his own.

So they took the first lines of Jenny's song from the book, and the rest they made it on their own. The theory Rhaegar wrote the song for Jon is still alive.

Even if thats not right, I am absolutely sure it is the song Rhaegar sang in Harrenhal which made Lyanna cry.

It was nice that they tried to focus more on the characters for the episode, but at this point I think they are well too far gone in making good reasonable authentic character work and dialogue on that level. A lot of it felt forced and meh.

I enjoyed the Brienne scene though, that was lovely. And I am happy Sansa and Dany are still at odds.

Don't think Bran will die.

2/6 eps meandering through these little character interactions smh, could have done all that in ep 1 IMO, there were a few good scenes like Tormund's story about his name, otherwise w/e

Was one of the people that was searching on my phone how old Arya's actress was during that scene because I thought she was like 7 when the show started ffs
