Agreed with all that. Frankly i am 90% confident about the Spurs duel. Our defense is the key and i have faith in our troops especially Chiellini.
Higuain is not in form currently, and it goes merely unnoticed because of this successful streak. Not a big deal for the next few games so he has plenty of time to "wake up" or go back to his standards, in other words. Rest of the team is doing well without him

Bernardeschi and Costa injured from tackles in the last match. They could make it to next game, or not. Costa's seems less serious.

What could be our line up for Sass if Costa doesn't make it ? We have no (real) wingers remaining
Honestly better than nothing except for that RM spot. If Costa plays then i expect 4-3-3 Wingdzukic... the neroverdi always respect us too much so i ain't worried.
Mandzukic-Higuain
Sandro-Matuidi-Pjanic-Sturaro??
Asamoah-Chiellini-Benatia-MDS
Buffon

Cuadrado, Dybala, Bernardeschi and Costa injured
Could have used Pjaca I guess. If no one makes it for Sassuolo I hope for something like this
I just can't deal with Sturaro the winger.

Massimiliano Allegri confessed Juventus are forced to start Federico Bernardeschi against Sassuolo amid an injury crisis, as Douglas Costa misses out.
It kicks off on Sunday at 14.00 GMT, click here for a match preview.
There is an injury crisis in Turin, missing Paulo Dybala, Juan Cuadrado, Benedikt Howedes and probably also Douglas Costa, while Bernardeschi is not fully fit either.
“Douglas Costa is very unlikely to take part, we’ll see today. He had a knock to the calf muscle and there are risks to letting him play,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“Bernardeschi had a knock, so it’s just an issue of pain. We’ll see today and tomorrow morning, but he’s more likely to play than Douglas Costa. If both are out, then I’ll find 11 players to start in one way or another. It could mean moving to 3-5-2 or 4-4-2, but it’s an issue of characteristics.
“Naturally if Dybala, Cuadrado and Douglas Costa are out… Bernardeschi is the only one left, so he has to grit his teeth and play regardless. Unless he feels enormous levels of pain, he will play.
“If Bernardeschi doesn’t make it, we could play with someone a little deeper, or simply use different characteristics in the position of right winger. Otherwise it’d be shaking things up that don’t need shaking up right now.
“There are options, such as Stephan Lichtsteiner more advanced or Stefano Sturaro in the front three. The important thing is to take the right approach, because we’re coming off a fine game against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia and need to get the three points tomorrow.
“We’re in the second half of the season and cannot afford errors, because we are only one point behind Napoli and must remain in their slipstream. I always said the Scudetto will be decided in the final month, because we’ve got three head-to-head clashes in the last five rounds.
“The only risk we run against Sassuolo is losing concentration against a team that is technically-gifted and added more physicality to the side with Khouma Babacar. In recent weeks they’ve beaten Inter and drawn with Roma.
“At the end of the day, the Scudetto is won by the strongest team. Obviously, there is also a component of luck, but whoever wins the title will have deserved it.”

Khedira
We are looking effective as hell.
Bernardeschi is clearly playing through injury like Allegri said, he won't last long. Higuain keeps looking super fit.

I think the first leg of Spurs we'll see something like this:
Buffon; Alex Sandro, Chiellini, Benatia, De Sciglio; Marchisio, Pjanic, Khedira; Mandzukic, Higuain, Costa

Higuain with 5 goals in his last 3 appearances. Its exactly what we need right now with Dybala out and other various injuries like Douglas Costa, Cuadrado etc.
Bernaradeschi with two assists today
Unreal how we look when Khedira finishes a chance or two, even got a Pjanic strike today

Agreed, a sharp Khedira is amazing.
Marchisio was just huge today. Still our best midfielder when fit.

He wasn't, he's literally on the exact same trajectory as last season but contributes more to the team in my opinion.
Obviously, and rightfully, people judge strikers by goals but lets also remember that his hattrick yesterday [3 wonderful goals] all came after we were leading 4-0. It's always nice to score but 3 goals like that, for me, are not the difference maker in Higuain's season- they just fill in the gaps for goals not scored in other matches

He's had some bad patches but he's been playing well lately. Even before he started scoring he was doing the right things. Physically, he looks better than anyone else on the team. Everyone laughs at Higuain for his thickness (I do too) but physically he is a monster when fit, and he's been fit except for the very start of the season.

Re: Juventus 2017/2018 Serie A and Coppa Italia thread
That's what i used to read this summer back in July/August, i remember damn well now... supposedly Higuain was more fit than ever so i assume he was a capocannoniere lock. The thickness adds strength for an athlete because of the training sessions, normal evolution at 30 years old for some body types. To me it was always banter more than a true concern. He is even still fast when sprinting i bet you noticed.
My complaint is mostly about his "sense of play", tbh i don't know how to call this attribute. Since the start of the season he played far from his best level. Not only goal scoring but dribbling, positioning, energy... all of those were missing.
As far as i've seen, Higuain was barely a factor for Juventus this season, positive or negative. *Exception made of the Milang game* Sure he was always going to score 15-20 goals, but for a player of this caliber those are underachievements.
I'll admit i couldn't watch the last 3 games (or 3 of the last 4 games idk) and this hat-trick performance might be something that can boost him to his best level right on time

Lets hope. He's been looking good, right on time for CL. Without Dybala and Cuadrado we need the other guys looking the best possible. Matuidi most likely missing the first leg too.
Costa is a doubt for Fiore but should be back for Spurs. Khedira, Rugani and Barzagli are making the Fiore trip.
With so many injuries and knocks this will be a dangerous game.
I guess the frontline will get no rest (Bernardeschi, Higuain, Mandzukic). Pjanic will surely play. I don't know if Marchisio will be rested for Spurs or played here too. Sturaro will probably see some time in midfield. Maybe Del Sole should debut during the game to rest one of the forwards, Bentancur too.

Reported 11 for Fiore tomorrow
Buffon; Sandro, Chiellini, Benatia, De Sciglio; Benantcur, Pjanic, Khedira; Mandzukic, Higuain, Bernardeschi
Beautiful team, this Juve is a monster. Definitely the strongest squad for me since the Marotta era, I like it a lot.
Only two changes or so from Sassuolo and most of these probably will play vs Spurs. I guess no rest until after Torino.

As it should be, that's why i expected to rest him for Champions League.
If Allegri wants to play Buffon for 3 games in 10 days i certainly won't complain but i kinda have doubts now.

He said the best would play vs Fiore, and confirmed Buffon would be there. The GK doesn't really need rest, if he is fit he is fit.
