Certainly i can't disagree.
I am just in a grey zone right now, as far as i know MDS doesn't deserve his J-University diploma yet... i still fear a winter relapse. But if he never stops showing improvements he might graduate somewhere around March/April.

Nah deficiencies only if he leaves or material changes happen to this Juve team, like we lost Allegri or several [more] key figures and do not adequately replaced.
Right now we are really like an army or a well-oiled machine, it doesn't matter who plays or who doesn't because the mentality stays the same. The end result is a fantastic thing to watch.
Imagine benching Dybala against Inter and still being in every position to win the game, its an unreal thing we have going.
I kind of hate that Mandzukic scored today because it means more. Also, the chance he scored was fairly difficult, more difficult then the ones he missed with Inter and that is a damn shame.

Re: Juventus 2017/2018 Serie A and Coppa Italia thread
Hey guys,
It's been awhile. So busy with work these last 2 months. Looks like we are reaching peak form right now. Haven't conceded a goal in almost a month since that bitter defeat to Sampdoria.
I like how things are coming along. We got a good draw in the CL so I see us advancing to the final 8. Just one point out of first place in Serie A. And Coppa is starting this week.
I like the look of our team now. Pjaca is back so I'd like to see him get some game action soon. Would be nice if we could pick up a midfielder in January. Can would be great but I don't think he leaves until the summer. Plus he couldn't play in the CL anyways.
I don't expect a busy winter mercato. Probably a midfielder will come but it won't be a big name. We will see.
Forza Juve!!!

Honestly, I would be surprised if we did sign a midfielder right now while players like Marchisio and Bentancur [outside of September] have rarely been given a look. The only thing I could see changing would be injury [knock on wood].
I thought for sure Asamoah would leave and Spinazzola would join but Asamoah's resurgence makes me think this won't happen until June.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Pjaca is loaned out in January

Hey Luca, how’s things in TO? Vancouver is great right now. Not too cold. No snow for now thank God.
I just thought if we are playing more of a 3 man midfield we’d go for another midfielder. I don’t see Sturaro getting much game action and Khedira looks like he’s aged a few years since he scored that hat trick.
Marchisio definitely has to play more. Bentancur is still young and I don’t see Allegri using him in the big CL games. I think he will be a star though. Pjaca could get loaned out but something tells me he’ll stick around and fight for a spot.
Whatever player we do get in January will most certainly only be a stop gap anyways. Other than Emre Can I don’t see any quality players available for January.

Toronto is nice, we got some snow but not a lot. I can't complain.
I guess that depends if we always play a midfield three or if we play a midfield in certain matches. I think Allegri knows when and where to deploy a midfield three and when he can afford to play a double pivot and throw on an extra forward.
If we do continue always with a midfield three then it will be at the expense of a forward, so I can most definitely see Pjaca loaned out in that instance.
In any case, I'm calm. Were rolling right now and playing well. Allegri is a genius

From the press conference:
Rugani, Szczesny, Bernardeschi, Dybala starting, confirmed by Max. De Sciglio, Mandzukic are out. I think Chiellini and Cuadrado as well, these two can be back for Roma. Not sure yet if Higuain starts or not.
More interestingly, Max said that in the 433 Dybala is a CF as his qualities must be exploited when he plays, and it's centrally.
He said that Pjaca also can be a player to use centrally, in either role (CF or TQ).
Dybala is the main player in the 4231 but if the team moves forward with a 433 he might lose a lot of space. Max and Marotta have things to think about.

Costa as well. The doubt in atrack is just Higuain or not. I guess it's early but I would like to see Pjaca get a few minutes if the game is under control. He said Marchioness also could play. Hopefully He does and we get to see some combinations from them.
It sucks De Sciglio has a small knock. Hype aside he has been very solid there, much better than the alternatives.
There is talk of Emerson to Juve, would be fajtastic. Also talk of Spinazzola in January but we all know how that ends with Atalanta. The only problem is that too many "left backs" might mean Sandro will go in the summer. Current level Sandrobi don't care as Emerson and Spina would be improvements but prime Sandro would be a loss. If Asamoah leaves instead it would be great.
De Sciglio, Spinazzola, Sandro, Emerson
That looks optimistic though. I'd guess Spina comes, Sandro stays and we don't sign Emerson.

I'd take a Darmian type transfer in January. Relatively inexpensive and can play on the right or the left.
I don't think Atalanta will return Spinazzola in January and to be honest, this rotation with Asamoah and Sandro on the left has been quite solid.
I have faith in De Scilgio as the #1 option but Lichtsteiner has declined quite rapidly

If we can get 60mln € from Sandro I wouldn't be sad if he leaves. He might want to leave and he's not on his best form this season anyway.
There are lots of players we can replace him with.
Guerreiro,Pereira,Hector,J.Willems,Wendell,Grimaldo just to name a few are all good options we should see in case of we decide to sell Sandro.
Dybala looks not focused at all, it's not just a physical from what I've seen.Maybe he has plans to move in summer as well.Gladly we have Berna already and he has done good for those limited minutes Allegri has given him.
Good to see him get more playing time in Coppa.Eager to see Pjaca comeback as well, he is truly talented but let's see how he will play after that long injury.

Dybala's form seems like a non football related personal issue. Max was asked if he is all good now (cause he is starting in the coppa) and he responded that he cannot change everything in 2 days. That he just has to continue working through his current form.

Marchisio, Bentancur, Bernardeschi, Dybala and Douglas Costa ffs
What a group of players, fantastic stuff were seeing
Dybala with a great goal, exactly what he needed
Bernardeschi looking dangerous every time he is on the ball, nearly scored with an excellent free kick
Bentancur and Marchisio bossing everything in the middle

We beat Roma with their own players. Pjanic Szcezney and Benatia were the best players on the pitch.
I think it's time for Buffon to retire at the end of this season. Szcezney has always been a solid keeper and now he's showing he's on the way to become a top 5 keeper. Great deal from Beppe as we wont need to throw millions for Dollarumma or Oblak.

Not sure if i trust Sczsesny as world class keeper, i see him as 1 or 2 steps below. Should be sufficient if we have a great team in front of him.
Still a great deal by Marotta since he was the best available Gk.

Szczesny was a top keeper with Roma last season.
Being able to play at Juve with Buffon this season will be a great boost for him next season and beyond.
Buffon is an absolute legend and his leadership is the most valuable trait but its nice to have a keeper more capable of the acrobatic miracle save, which Buffon is a bit beyond. Realistically, if a keeper has to make such a save, we already have made a mistake elsewhere and we've been great at not doing that. Buffon's positioning also makes up for whatever athleticism he lacks at this age- which is still unreal for his age

Every time we see the absolute best from Pjanic, he gets injured and we miss out. Shame
Hopefully that means some time for Marchisio and/or Bentancur though
