Re: Juventus 2017/2018 Serie A and Coppa Italia thread
4 clean sheets in a row including Barca and Napoli away, CL KO qualification and closed the gap in A. Its been a good 2 weeks. I think the team is finally settled mentally, we should beat Inter at home.
Oddly Dybala and Sandro are the only ones out of form.
Pjanic is in between imo, not great not poor. Khedira a bit better.
Marchisio, Chiellini, Benatia, Barzagli, Costa, Cuadrado, Higuain, De Sciglio and Asamoah are all looking good.

Re: Juventus 2017/2018 Serie A and Coppa Italia thread
Inter is always a tough match, I can't even call it but I was definitely much more unsure of Napoli.
The nice thing is, having won in Napoli, it really reduces the pressure of this match. Everyone knows the importance of this game without looking at the table, with the table in mind, its even greater but nothing is decided in December. It will be much harder for Inter to maintain this run of form then it would be for Juventus to overcome a deficit of 3-4 points.
Dybala, Pjanic and Sandro are the ones off form. With Sandro, I think Marotta even confirmed he's . dealing with some personal issues. Pjanic has come off a couple minor injuries but they break up your continuity as a player, so its normal. Dybala should've hit the bench a couple games ago but he's too important and our games have been too important. But the load has been no different from last season so I won't use tiredness as an excuse in December. Dybala was just never going to maintain his start to the season, which I think everyone expected. That's a level that is not maintainable.

While Costa is having his high and low performances Berna is much more effective so far.
Against Inter I wanna see Costa-Dybala-Bernardeschi behind Higuain and Pjanic-Marchisio/Matuidi on midfield.
Sandro-Chiellini-Benatia-De Sciglio/Cuadrado in defense.

I think that was one of our best games of the season, I know I said the same after Napoli but this was really, a team performance in all areas of the field.
We just couldn't finish one of those chances is all.

Asamoah gave us an honest match, can't blame him.
My only 2 complaints are Wingdzukic and Marchisio's absence. For the rest, it was indeed a good performance.

Mandzukic and Cuadrado were the best out there together with Chiellini and Benatia

Pjanic and Cuadrado were the only creative players on the field, against a team with no DM and shit full backs, would you believe.
On the wings/support, we need someone who's deadly on the counter attacks, not a powerhouse.
Most of what i saw in this Derby was Inter defenders blocking the long shots and Mandzukic missing his headers. Because when Mandzukic plays LW our main strategy is "get the ball, run down the right side, cross to Mandzukic". No wonder why it's him who gets the most scoring chances ahead of the far superior finisher Higuain. And most of the time this season, it doesn't work. We had nice results recently while dropping this strategy. I have no problem against Mandzukic, but i have a big problem against "Wingdzukic" and everything it implies.
Higuain's talent allow him to score sometimes in this situation (not tonight tho) but he is much better with a Dybala/Costa/Berna/Cuadrado to build a play with. Oh and one last thing... it seems like Bonucci being gone there is no need to worry about Icardi anymore

Told ya about Bonucci. I said he'll get exposed for not being the world class defender we thought he was. He's back at being mediocre.
As for Wingdzukic he was awful trying to create anything.Only Asa and Khedira were worse than him.
He did some good tackles but we should have played him instead of Khedira to consider that a good performance

We are back in action after a break. Gazzetta's lineup against Bologna.
Buffon is still a doubt, Cuadrado will likely not be ready for sunday.
Buffon; Sandro, Rugani, Benatia, De Sciglio; Matuidi, Marchisio, Pjanic; Costa, Dybala; Higuain
Love how we play a stronger side for Bologna than for Inter.

I'm hoping that the Inter game, more than anything is the end of Wingdzukic. Missing 6 chances in one game should be about enough to really end that nonsensical, at this point, feature of our game

Pjaca will return after nine months off with injury and Buffon, Chiellini and Cuadrado are out. Here are the callups:
Goalkeepers: Pinsoglio, Szczesny, Loria
Defenders: De Sciglio, Benatia, Alex Sandro, Barzagli, Rugani
Midfielders: Pjanic, Khedira, Marchisio, Matuidi, Asamoah, Sturaro, Bentancur
Forwards: Higuain, Dybala, Douglas Costa, Mandzukic, Pjaca, Bernardeschi
Dybala also unlikely to play according to Allegri:
"What Nedved said after the Champions League draw shouldn’t be seen as criticism, but rather as advice from Juventus’ vice president, but also from someone who has played a match or two. Paulo is a great player but also very young, this is advice to help him mature. He isn’t in great condition, but these are moments that happened to everyone and must be dealt with serenity. Just this season we had similar moments with Mandzukic, Sandro and Higuain, but looking even further back we made similar choices with players like Pirlo, Pogba and Vidal”
----------------------------
Mandzukic should be on a mandatory 15 day suspension for the Inter match
Pjaca and Bernardeschi please
*Pjaca would be cool but I'm trying to be realistic
I would love to see this line up- in before double pivot of Khedira and Matuidi- joga bonito

Would love to see that lineup but have the feeling that Marchisio will not release Allegri's daughter from kidnapping (only reason why he can be benched) and Khedira will start with Matuidi and Pjanic. Then Mandzukic up top next Higuain and Costa.

Pjaca apparently scored a great goal in training, I'm excited to see him back. The two primavera games I watched/followed he had a goal and assist (or goal and 2 assists?).
He is clearly talented and is right footed. Cuadrado cannot play on the left and Mandzukic is something else. Pjaca is an interesting option as our only right footed LW.

Wouldn't you think that if Marchisio had kidnapped Allegri's daughter, it would rather be to force Allegri into starting him every game?
You did not think this through tbh

Exactly
You don't dictate terms to mad max, he'd sooner let his daughter die than bench Khedira.

I still wish someone would swipe Wingdzukic’s phone from his locker because he keeps the naked pictures of Allegri on there
At this rate we’re really going to field a better line up against Genoa in the Coppa Italia then against Inter

MDS is definitely on the way up. He's done some satisfying progress in every aspect of his game.
I like to wait at least 6 months before switching opinion about a player, so right now i don't criticize him nor do i praise him.

De Sciglio has been fantastic. One of our very best defenders against Napoli and I highlight that match because he was up against Insigne.
You can tell he’s played for Allegri before and he’s looking the player he was supposed to be. All these clean sheets with him in the line up is always nice, especially considering how many goals Lichtsteiner has unfortunate been a part of this season

Certainly i can't disagree.
I am just in a grey zone right now, as far as i know MDS doesn't deserve his J-University diploma yet... i still fear a winter relapse. But if he never stops showing improvements he might graduate somewhere around March/April.
