Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Quick round up of moves that could happen this month:
Walcott could go on loan to Everton.
Arsenal are binning Coquelin. West Ham interested.
Arsenal and City are talking about Alexis. Arsenal want £35m, City trying to lower the price.

Could be £8m, apparently.
Valencia gonna have Gabriel and Coquelin in the same team. Amazing. I mean, who would do that?

Coquelin had heavy demand too lol. About 8 teams.
He will do well. Not a bad player. Just average.
Man we really need to replace Sanchez.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
The key difference here is that we're selling abroad, not domestically. It was the same with Szczesny. You can only demand top dollar if the interested clubs actually have top dollar to spend in the first place. Otherwise, we'd just be turning off interested clubs for players we actually want to get rid of, which benefits us far less than a big transfer fee would.

Valencia are currently in talks to sign Francis Coquelin on loan. Arsenal want to include an obligation to buy but the Spanish club are looking to avoid this clause. [Superdeporte] #afc pic.twitter.com/B9aw5DqfZE

Great talent. He is a ball carrier. Bit a young Wilshere but athletic. But not a DM though.
Lyon won't sell him for 2 seasons.

Bouhafsi says that an offer of €70m, minimum, could be enough to get the ball rolling.

overpriced but would take, still need a forward

Why on earth do you need a forward when you have Lacazette AND Giroud

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Actually we need another centre forward too when Giroud leaves and challenge Lacazette.
Tbh I’m not completely convinced on Lacazette leading the frontline, I think he is better suited to play in behind a CF or partnering one. He’s closer to being an Alexis than he is to a Kane, if you know what I mean.
I wouldn’t mind putting Lacazette as Alexis’ replacement and sign a CF instead and someone like Mahrez on the right.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
From Brazil: Arsenal decisive meeting before Sunday to agree terms on €50m signing
There are now strong rumours both in Italy and in Brazil saying Arsenal are going for the Bordeaux forward Malcom to replace Alexis Sanchez at the club.
This morning, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claimed the Gunners have a meeting with the player’s representatives on Wednesday.
Arsenal would try to find a deal with the agents today, even though the purchase would depend on Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester City, no matter if now in January or in the summer.
Goal’s Brazilian blog Ora Bolas, from journalist Bruno Andrade, has slightly different but still positive, information for Arsenal fans. He agrees that there will be a decisive meeting for the Gunners to close the deal, but it should happen between Thursday and Sunday.
Arsenal would be afraid of losing Malcom to English competition, and that’s why they are trying to find an agreement.
Both reports claim that Malcom should cost around €50m.

Wenger on Mavropanos: “I personally want to keep him until May. First signs have been so encouraging so we will keep him until May.”
Wenger on Coquelin: "He goes to Valencia because he didn't get enough opportunities with us. He had an opportunity & I let him go"

We should sign someone like Fabinho and bench Xhaka, but in reality would be lucky to not end up with someone worse than coquelin

Don't really feel 'happy' as many twitter users. He was decent with Cazorla when we recalled him from loan. Always tried hard at least.
Good luck to him at Valencia.
