This really bugs me. We have a bunch of deadwood on high wages who we are pricing out of halfway interested buyers, and instead we're asking first team players if they'd like to leave.

AW's decisions are beyond rationality. It almost looks like he is consciously and purposefully sabotaging the club.

That was my thinking as well. Through sheer incompetency, Wenger could sabotage any chances of Arsenal getting back into the top four this season. His rationale is beyond comprehension at this point.

Sterling is trash. I don't consider him better than any front-line first team player at our club. I wouldn't take him for free.

I dont think it's sabotage but do want to echo Jay speculation about statdna thing. Call it principle or stubbornness, what we have seen from Wengers since ages is playing favorite. He has 1 set of players who I think is 1st priority pick, he will do everything to keep and play these guys even out of position.he show total loyalty until of course the players shat bed hard. Ramsey, Bellerin, Ox are from this group. 2nd group is Xhaka, Elneny, Perez, Mustafi and way back then Park, notice how these guys were never his 1st pick during transfer seasons ( Kante, Benzema, Van Dikji were). I suspect this group was never his signings but his advisors or someone else hence he never cares, rarely play them even when they did good. It almost seems like he wants to prove to someone that these people are not good enough, or at least not as good as his 1st pick. It has become such a pattern.

Come to think about it, it's almost as bad as sabotage. If he doesnt get Lemar in to replace Ox, watch him get someone that he doesnt want and rot him on the bench

Definitely. Although I might even also compare this to Roy Hodgson's Liverpool in the market: buying sub-par British players on the notion that hey, maybe they'll be better once they play for us.

This is like the worst of old Arsenal and old Liverpool all combined in one window. I'd be happy just to not sell any of Alexis, Mustafi and AOC at this rate. Our team is failing more due to tactics than talent atm, but the current rumours would make both a problem.

I truly hope this is all a huge troll by Wenger to keep City tied up from signing a top winger other than Alexis, Chelsea or Liverpool from signing someone other than AOC, and City from signing Evans (can't until Mangala goes, Inter prefer Mustafi). Last minute we just pull out of all negotiations.
