Indeed
PSG are now close to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma. The agreement is ‘imminent’ - PSG working to complete the deal soon, already planning for medicals in Italy NT camp. #PSG @DiMarzio @SkySport

Interest but still no bid from Barça and Juve - Szczesny and ter Stegen are staying.

Thank you. Massive bullet dodged.
Nowhere worth the amount of money PSG are paying for him.

Yes, this is my prediction as well, despite them having Navas. PSG board+Leonardo appreciate him a lot, and Donnarumma won't move to a team unless its a clear upgrade. Juve are looking dubious as of now. Lets see what happens.

Re: Donnarumma makes his fortune at PSG
It is extremely stupid at this point to capitulate to Riola's demands. In fact, it is almost criminal.
Donnarumma basically have no exit strategy since Milan will not take him back, and every big team bar United already have a top-class GK on long contracts and expensive wages.
In this market, no one will fight to hit their budget on a position they don't need. Basically, the clubs have a massive upper hand in this negotiation, so much that failing to use this upper hand should be subject to criminal investigation.

Navas is simply put, one of the very best goalies in the world. I have no idea why Madrid and now PSG think they should replace him with someone with a bigger name but simply not as good is beyond me. Especially in the modern game, with him being very good with his feet compared to both Courtois and Donnarumma.

Navas is turning 35 this year. To replace him with a top GK that is 13 years younger on a free transfer makes sense

Re: Donnarumma makes his fortune at PSG
He's still very athletic and shows no signs of slowing down. As a goalie, he still has at least 2 high level seasons I'd predict.
Which one of them is playing on the bench next season?

Navas still number 1 : will definitely play all the CL games bar the last group stage game if PSG is sure to top the group.
Donnaruma : Cup games and some leagues games to rest Navas.

I imagine they will rotate for a season like we did with Buffon and Szczesny, with Navas playing more important games, and then Donnarumma will be #1 the year after.

Re: Donnarumma makes his fortune at PSG
The point isn't that Donnarumma doesn't make sense for PSG. It is that it doesn't make sense for PSG to capitulate for his wage demands when he literally has nowhere else to go.
No other club can afford him or actually needs him. So PSG has all the power regarding their offer, and it doesn't make sense that they don't get him for a bargain wage or just slightly lower than his previous Milan wages.
PSG doesn't need Donnarumma as much as he needs them at this stage.

Time to change the title. Since 2 weeks we know he is leaving
Unless PSG sell Navas it is a terrible move sportively for Donnarumma. Raiola owns his family

I agree there Donnarumma still maybe a bit under Navas atm but it wont be long before Navas leaves either since he has max 2-3 years left but until then I expect him to be on the bench rn

Please, Donnarumma is two levels above Navas and that's only atm. He's on track to be one of the all time greats, while Navas is just a dude who peaked late

He was willing to come to Juve for a lot less than this, but they gave up. If you want to know why, then look at who's in charge of the team now

Re: Donnarumma makes his fortune at PSG
Four games into the new Ligue 1 season, Donnarumma has not played a single minute with Navas still first choice.
He doubled his salary from earning 6m at Milan to 12m at PSG
What will be the story for him this season? Especially with the WC looming next year. I think a loan in January isn't out of the picture if he continues to warm the bench.

Think he'll start CL and cup games and becomes full time starter next year. Its what Barca did with Ter Stegen taking over Bravo.

Fair play to Pochettino for not casting Navas aside straight away... but there's no way you sign potentially the best goalkeeper in the world and not start him sooner rather than later.

Jabroni has a 90 rating on FIFA ffs
Did rincon do the ratings?
That said, wouldn't mind having him on loan with a reduced salary.

@Sports
What's the goalie succession plan for PSG? Is Keylor the key starter or is he going to split competitions with Dollarumma like Barca did with Bravo and MATS in 2015?
Or is it a case of waiting for Navas to have his first run of bad form which they can then use as an excuse to start Dollarumma instead. What's the French media saying about PSG's goalie situation?

Re: Donnarumma makes his fortune at PSG
South American bias? I dunno
Its clear that Donnarumma isn't happy with his current predicament, especially since Raiola talked to the press so bluntly as of late
