I've seen all sorts of clubs make some legit rash decision, from big to small, but this one, oof, this one is something else. To fire your 2 time La Liga winning coach in the middle of the season while being 1st in La Liga, comfortable CL tie and easily the next CDR finalists is absolutely mental...and I fucking love it.

Kindly get rid of Rakitic and Suarez next please.

I dont know much about Setien but had the memory of hearing that he was good. I guess from these posts that he is a scrub?

Setien isn't a scrub, he's a good La Liga manager...in theory. He has real mixed reviews in the practical sense but his philosophy and what he wants from his team would suit those living in the Barca 2009-2011 mindset.

But it's a gamble, a legit, almost unnecessary gamble from Barcelona to hire him at this stage.

This Cruyffist bullshit is grinding my gears. Valverde was also a "Cruyffist", in fact Cruyff himself praised Valverde several times for the way his teams played. Athletic Bilbao were beautiful under him.

When you coach Barca in 2020 with 32 year old Messi upfront, 32 year old Pique leading the backline, "protected" by 32 year old Busquets, with Roberto and and Firpino as fullbacks and Vidal-Rakitic-DeJong (Barca's version of Lassana Diarra-Granero-Khedira), you don't play "Cruyffist" football even if you appoint Cruyff's ghost as coach.
