Re: The 2017 Summer Transfer Thread
Both Auba and Belotti should be bought, Aubameyang is not a pure striker and would be great at RW, and he could be the striker when necessary, but i think it's too much to ask.

Re: The 2017 Summer Transfer Thread
I doubt it, I don't think we're looking for a RF at the moment.
Apparently we have 8 days to sign Auba if we want him. I get the feeling we'll sort out our CF position very soon. It is the biggest issue right now.

I would just like to say, boy how could we use Mikel right about now.
Kante, Bakayoko, Fabregas and Mikel would be quality for CM.

I'd have Aguero tbf.
Also I'd personally rather have Romeu instead of Mikel.

In theory. I doubt we'll only go into the season with Bakayoko, Kante and Fabregas.Socur Toxanarosa wrote:Danilo can play CM too if he comes.

Everyone's thoughts.
Matt Law is saying that we're not going after one CF but trying to negotiate with Morata, Belotti, Auba and Augero to ensure we get one.

Congrats on his pay rise
In all seriousness, he didn't need to extend it, so this is good news.

Did he add years to his contract? I thought he had 2 years in his contract anyway.

Re: The 2017 Summer Transfer Thread
No, his original deal was set to expire June 2019, and his new one expires then, too.
It's nothing more than a pay rise and a public 'back off' statement.
That said, we gave extra years to Mou and then sacked him 4 years later, so there is no need to add years to his contract, yet.
If we have another good year, I'd like to see a one year extension, though.

Definitely.
On the striker situation, Auba looks like is staying at Dortmund, Belotti is Milan top priority and even though we all like Belotti but lets be honest he has never been strongly linked to Chelsea. Seems like Morata is the most likely, and i don't believe he is better than Batshuyai tbh.

Re: The 2017 Summer Transfer Thread
I still think if Chelsea offered 70m pounds for Auba, Dortmund would sell. I think they're just trying to speed up the selling process and if they can't sell, ensure he stays.
I am also beginning to wonder if the Batshuayi loan reports are wide of the mark. His late season form almost certainly made us rethink a loan and with our relaxed nature in the transfer market, I can see him starting come opening day. Perhaps Conte has more trust in him than his did at the start of 2017? Strikers are very much reliant on form and Michy has proven that, when he starts, he often scores. So perhaps we are not worried about signing a top CF in a hurry because Conte and the board have increased faith in Michy?

Morata in.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/07/19/alvaro-morata-verge-completing-chelsea-move/
And for a cheaper price than I expected. Much cheaper. In this market, that's cheap.
I still have my reservations about Morata but I hope he proves me wrong and fires goals from all angles. Hopefully, he can be the first Chelsea number 9 since JFH to actually flourish.

Re: The 2017 Summer Transfer Thread
Well, Chelsea made me to look like a fool.
Good move by the board, I hope Morata (although, I don't rate him that highly, yet) finds his feet early and has a good career with us.
All of our major weaknesses have been filled now. On to LWB, RWB and a decision on CM. Danilo looks likely to join City, btw. So he's out.

Re: The 2017 Summer Transfer Thread
Being linked to Ox, Bertrand, and Candreava atm.
None seem likely, but then again, I don't see any likely candidates for our WB options.
I'd happily take Bertrand and Ox, though. Then we could sign any back up CM + a CF if Remy is to be sold and call it a day.

Ox is shit. I reeaaalllyyy, reaaallyyyy don't want us to end up with a Bertrand. Something tells me there's still a chance for Sandro. Why hasn't he signed the Juve contract he has been offered yet
I would be absolutely over the moon if we were able to pull that one off. Hazard badly needs a full back like that behind him.

That is true.
Mutliple sources are saying we want 3-4 more players, and link Candreva, Sandro, LLorente and VVD to us.
We won't sign all of them, as we can only sign 3 more non-homegrown players.
Bertrand would be ideal, as he fills a homegrown and club trained slot. Then we can sign whoever for RWB, CM and CF.

Sport linked us to Sergi Roberto, but say we'd have to pay his 40m Euro release clause.
I wouldn't mind it, tbh

Re: The 2017 Summer Transfer Thread
Evening Standard are saying that Conte has been impressed with Bats in pre-season and is leaning towards keeping him. We're also put off by Swansea's 30m pound asking price for LLorente
I say keey Bats and Remy to play with Morata, we don't need more than that.

Re: The 2017 Summer Transfer Thread
Still shocking to me that Remy is still a Chelsea player. Might as well use him as 3rd option as he runs out the last year of his contract. Llorente for 30m is a terrible, terrible deal. They can keep him lol. Anything more than 15m for Llorente is a terrible deal imo. Bats is certainly looking a lot better than last season.

Re: The 2017 Summer Transfer Thread
Like how Delac is still a Chelsea player?
Or Piazon?
We hang on to players long past their use by date, but Remy could prove useful. He is still a decent CF when not injured.

Re: The 2017 Summer Transfer Thread
Still don't get the Delac case tbh. If I had to guess, Roman's doing someone a favour by keeping Delac on our wage bill. Piazon is funny too. He's clearly never going to play for us. Just sell the guy ffs. At this point, I think Kalas should be sold too. His window has closed. His potential spot belongs to Christensen (and Zouma) now.
