Re: UK General Elections 2017
May announces general elections on June 8.
Got to say, it's a bold but smart move. More chance of me bagging Angelina Jolie than Corbyn winning.

Re: UK General Elections 2017
RIP. This could potentially finish labour for a long time.
Conservatives will create history with the biggest win percentage lol. Although, Corbyn will destroy May and Farron in debates. He is far too good for both of them.
Interesting that Lib Dems are going to make anti-brexit their main campaign point. Wonder how many people will vote for them if they offer a 2nd EU referendum. Same with labour but they have conflict of interest with Corbyn himself being pro-brexit.
Can't wait. Politics really got interesting all of a sudden

Re: UK General Elections 2017
Very smart of May, call a snap election when the opposition parties are all in tatters.
I really really hate the tories....but they are going to absolutely sweep
UKIP of 2015 would have had a chance to steal some seats, but UKIP are nothing without Farage and I expect them to suffer a huge loss as well, though not as bad as what's awaiting Labour.
Greens and Lib Dems to make small gains though

Re: UK General Elections 2017
UKIP voters are now tories voters anyways. Farage got what he wanted so he has nothing more to do.
Greens are a nothing party now. Eventhough they easily have the best policies. They are more than willing to try 6 hour work days ffs. I'd vote them just for that. They realise working 8 hours a day is counter productive.
Lib Dems probably will make a very tiny gain but no one knows who Tim Farron is and he probably the least charismatic leader of any party ever. He'll be rejected straight away by the public

Re: UK General Elections 2017
If this #GeneralElection is about leadership, as Theresa May said this morning, she should not be dodging head-to-head TV debates.
— Jeremy Corbyn MP (@jeremycorbyn) April 18, 2017
May is looking weak by refusing to have TV debates imo.

I've never understood this idea. How is a 6 hour work day more beneficial than an 8 hour work day? What's the extra 2 hours being cut off going to do for whatever firm in terms of productivity?
Debates like this is one of the reasons manufacturers are increasingly automating their products and totally cutting out the need for human labour.

Re: UK General Elections 2017
Contrary to what Unique says, if there is one party in UK that is strongly pro-ISIS, It's the Tories.
http://news.sky.com/story/boris-johnson-calls-assad-a-monster-who-needs-decapitating-10842503
Boris Johnson openly calls for decapitating an elected leader of a sovereign country. Literally out of ISIS handbook.
Imagine the rightful uproar in the international community if president of Oman said: "Theresa May needs to be gang-banged" or "Shinzo Abe needs to have his penis but off".
But UK' foreign ministry (supposed to be the top diplomat for that role) openly calls for decapitating a foreign president who is fighting ISIS. But then again, UK and Tories are pro-ISIS and are openly assisting Saudi Arabia in starving and bombing Yemenis to death , so I'm not surprised

Because no one works consistently for 8 hours using the same effort and concentration. People work for 3-4 hours at their peak while the remaining hours are wasted where people pretend to work.
This has been researched and studied

Re: UK General Elections 2017
Would love to know what jobs they are. I do a 9 hour day with an hour lunch break. The rest of the day is non-stop as i'm the only person in my dept.
so torn with this election, always swore I would never vote Tory.

up until about 5 years ago was a Labour voter and could never picture myself voting Tory. May not vote this time rnd.

Re: UK General Elections 2017
On the topic of work days, always been of the opinion for your 40 hour jobs Mon-Thurs 10 hours a day with a 3 day Weekend would bring out more productivity from your staff.
And it's funny how a majority of people talk about how disillusioned they are with Governments but these parties that would change everything get about 10 votes.

Re: UK General Elections 2017
So likely to happen here.
Labour are reduced to nothingness, SNP stand to lose some votes because some of their voters, albeit a minority obviously did vote for Brexit
Lib Dems are delusional, but will gain ground as the last remaining hope for pro Eu campaigners. But I doubt they can do anything about it
At this point I want conservatives to smash the general election, be as strong as possible for upcoming Brexit negotiations. Then in 5 years time hopefully another party will rebuild completely and give us a better option for running the country. Some of Corbyns ideas sound great, but other times he sounds *bleep* ridiculous and he's far too soft to run a country.
At this point people aren't voting for who they want to run the country, or who they feel best represents them, they're voting for which party will give them the brexit they want.
