He's an incredible goal scorer but he should have showed up earlier in the season.

He was at home. Ronaldo didn't play a min in CDR, we shouldn't need to call him up for those games. That home leg defeat is on the B players particularity those 1st teamers that took part.

He was very poor in the league prior to 2018 but there was nobody we could call on to keep the ship steady while he was in his rut. Where were Bale and Benz is a more apt question, he's been carrying them their entire Maddid carees. He's made for the CL AND there's a world cup coming up. He's 33 now. He took some months of when only minor trophies were at stake and now he has the energy to maintain his GOAT form till after the world cup. Then he can rest till January or so again. It's smart. It's strategic. Not every battle can be won but as long as you win the war it doesn't matter. It's why he's not just the best player but the Kommander.

His lieutenants, Bale and Benzema let him down hard and he is 33, even his GOATness needs the proper rest to be at optimum level. Now that silly titles like La Liga and CDR are out of the way, the real trophies are at stake and we are seeing his majesty at work. We are truly not worthy.
