Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 12
Chelsea have the title wrapped up and Spurs have 2nd spot wrapped up.
It comes down to City, Liverpool, and Arsenal for 3rd and 4th.
United are shite. Will be lucky to finish above Everton.

we are just as shit as Man U. I mean how can a team that cost over 200 million with a so called world class manager still can't suss out how to beat scrub teams after going in front. And forget about getting top 4 next season because everyone will improve except us. We will still be losing points and games toDon't call me James wrote:Chelsea have the title wrapped up and Spurs have 2nd spot wrapped up.

Our fixture list is still shit compared to City and Liverpool. I don't think we'll make it but it's at least up to us now.

City have 5 of their last 8 games at home and I think teams that can cause them problems are United, Leicester and Southampton.
City thou smh aside from the 2-0 loss to Spurs and 1-0 loss to Pool, they've done more damage to themselves then the top 6 teams have in a encounter, either defensive brain farts or missing chance and even open nets ffs.

Top 4 is over for us for sure. We are banking on winning Europa League.
We have City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs left to play. 3 of them away too. I'd be happy if we won 2 of those.
I think Top 4 as it is is basically a lock already. Arsenal aren't playing well enough to break into it.
Needed to get 6 pts from our last 2 games to have any hope.

If you guys (United) win the EL and finish outside top 4, will there be 5 PL teams in the UCL next season?

yeah. UEFA changed the rules. 5 teams allowed now if a team outside top 4 wins EL.

Man united need to take one for the team and drop out of the Top 4 race and win the EL instead.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 12
Really just setting the stage for me to blame the players instead of Pep more than anything is what that is tbh
Actually joking though, another result where City will kick themselves. I'm not sure they outplayed Chelsea enough to win the game necessarily but a loss is very harsh. Deflection + stupid penalty to give away. Even then, penalty is saved and rebounded right back to Hazard
Meanwhile crossbar, missing sitters from 3 yards just the standard for City.
Would have appreciated Chelsea dropping points but I'll take dropped points from City tbh. Just makes Spurs top 4 more of a lock.

Hope you realise there's only one team winning the EL this season and it's not United.

Conte is the first manager to beat Pep home and away in a season

Funny thing with City is we've gladly let them have possession in both matches and they haven't made anything out of it. We were dominated in the first 15-20 mins of the first match but that's about it. Both goals they scored against us have been goals we gifted them. They're all huff and puff. Deserved win for us in both matches. Conte v Pep is turning into Jose v Wenger imo. Pragmatism vs idealism. We'll see how next season goes....or maybe we'll meet them in the FA Cup final if we make it through.

I highly doubt that.
But I guess all fans of underperforming teams would say that.

It's not about underperforming though, one week ur beating heavyweights overwhelmingly and just when u raise ur hopes next week u drop points against pub teams smh. Been the pattern for sometime now and it's cruel to say the least.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 12
Re watched the game... Need to apologize to Delph he played well. Should bench KdB for the next match or two. With Sterling back into the lineup and hopefully Zaba for Navas.
Kante exposed in another big game after Big Sam exposed him last weekend. Turned to Hack-A-Shaq after Silva kept getting by him with easy. Lucky he had Mike Dean a sunday league level ref following the NBA's 6 foul rule before a yellow card was issued.
No idea why Pep didn't bring on Sterling for KdB earlier. We need Gabriel Jesus and hopefully he will be back. Going from Sterling/Sane to Navas/Nolito is too big of a drop off.

frustrating? why? they're over-performing if anything. Only it's entitled, delusional fanbase expect them to compete for titles and CL spots. The only reason they're doing the latter this season is due to no European matches.
They have a crap squad that's carried by 1-2 players. We've seen them collapse without Mane and Coutinho all season long so this shouldn't have come as a surprise.
