Pato: Injuries, Brazilian Syndrome or Barbara
When he went to Milan he was slated to be a fenomeno. He was, in fact, great for a year or two as a youngster at Milan, and Milan was still a force at the time, though declining. Fast, quick and could do some serious "dribbling" and scored goals. He had some injuries and he had some of the "Adriano" or Brazilian syndrome. But, I think Barbara was his downfall. Only 27 years old and Villareal, that took a chance on him has said he hasn't met expectations and will probably be sold.

Barbara wasn't a problem lol, injuries took their toll on him unfortunately. He had a great 10/11 season then got niggling injuries up until he got sold

Scrub. Plenty of players have 1 good season in their careers and never replicate it, he was brazilian so he got hyped a lot. If he were from some fodder Nation nobody would have hyped him as much. Also benefited from playing in a strong Milan team in a weak league.
Not much to see here.

One of my favorite players ever. He was really insane as a kid. Dinho's influence also played a part in his downfall but he was extremely injury prone which hampered his development.

Noted. Although I feel like this is a strange time to mention it since that post is pretty much 100% accurate. Certainly the least delusional in a while.

Except he did not have one good season. He almost always scored when he was fit for more than three weeks.

Extremely good before the injuries, he had everything, would have been an incredible striker.

He pretty much won us the Scudetto after destroying Inter and Napoli who were our title rivals that season. That was his last good season, after that the injuries became ridiculous.

Re: Pato: Injuries, Brazilian Syndrome or Barbara
i agree, despite injury and off field related issues, he still gave milan decent goal ratio per appearance, given most of the time he was injured anyway. he would have had great milan career if he had not those injuries

Your bravado performance in the PL thread is fine and commands respect IMO, yet there's no need to randomly shit on Pato ffs.
Pato was a great young player, the real deal, in a time where top Brazilian talent is scarce, and top talent is always scarce.
He would have brought a lot of joy and delight into all of our lives if his career hadn't been killed by injuries.

You have to be kidding. Krasic played like a chicken with its head cut off. Pato was great on the ball, fast and quick. Fast enough to out run even fast defenders and quick enough to get around them in traffic.

One of my favourite players who had immense talent. As everyone has said injuries ruined his progress but I feel like slowly he is getting some form back.
He was very good at Sao Paulo and has been very good in recent weeks at Villareal. Just needs to maintain that form.

Actually, he has been disappointing the management at Villareal and they plan to get rid of him. That's what got me thinking about him:

Ancora un fallimento per Alexandre Pato: il tecnico del Villareal lo scarica. Per l’ex Milan futuro in Turchia o Cina"

"This is the level that we demand of Pato because he is a great player," Villarreal coach Fran Escriba said as reported in El Mundo Deportivo. "He played at a great level against Atletico Madrid and he again handed in a great performance."

Not sure what happened in a month, but this is from 13 hours ago from Marca:
"La salida de Alexandre Pato podría cristalizarse en próximos días si se confirma el interés del fútbol chino en el delantero brasileño. El Tianjin Quanjian, equipo de la Primera división del país asiático y entrenado por el italiano Fabio Cannavaro, exfutbolista de la Juve y del Real Madrid..."

Re: Pato: Injuries, Brazilian Syndrome or Barbara
Pato had one hell of a decline. I remember me being extremely eager of signing him when we had Carlo and we were heavily linked to him for 60M, but when he came 6 years later I was thoroughly pissed
He didn't have a Adriano decline though. Adriano had more of a Ronaldinho decline, not taking football serious anymore and partying excessively. Pato had a Kakà/Torres decline, aka an injury that he never fully recovered and made him lose that burst of speed and acceleration that was the thing separating him from the other players. This is exactly what prime Pato was all about:
