Should Wenger be praised for sticking with Giroud ?

For years now Arsenal fans have continually blamed Wenger for not dropping the cash on a world class center forward yet their main frontman Giroud is quietly putting up the numbers and right now seems to be in the form of his life scoring wonder goals, impressive late winners/equalisers and overall being a vital force to the team.

Yet I don't understand why he is the most bashed player in the Arsenal squad and always the scapegoat. Maybe he doesn't have a Brazilian surname, maybe he doesn't carry a German passport like those overrated pseudo-Germans like Ozil or maybe he is not African enough to be highly rated like his French compatriots such as Martial, Coman and so on.

I would say kudos to Wenger to give Giroud the push he richly deserved despite a barrage of criticism from Arsenal  fans whose complaints about not signing a WC striker must have reached a saturation point by now.


If Arsenal can't win the league , it's not Giroud's fault or that you dint replace him with a WC CF as he's been as good as any in the league this past year.

Are you actually sure that Arsenal wouldn't have won a PL in those 5 years with a WC striker instead of him?

The United team that you like to vituperate has spent so much in the last years because they had huge issues in almost every role for years, yet as soon as they bought a WC striker that is RVP in 2013, they walked the league.

Giroud has never been satisfying in stats and consistency imo. He has had 11, 16, 14, 16 goals in his career so far. He would go hours of game played without scoring. I do admit tho he's in hot form right now

I think that if Arsenal had a WC striker, or at least one of the strikers that carried the last PL champions, like prime RVP, fit Aguero, Costa, Vardy in addition to Sanchez and Oezil, they would have won at least 1 of the last 4 PLs.

Vardy ain't shit he'll be in league 1 in a few years time plying his trade.

The guy is not even a starter (2 starts in 12 appearances) and he should be praised for sticking with him?

Wenger should not be praised for 2 reasons: arguing that Arsenal should not pay over X price for players because that is 'crazy' rather than coming to terms with the inflation of players' value (refused to buy Higgy for 40m, who was later sold for 90m) and that he has failed to organically produce a consistent goalscorer.

IMO the only thing Wenger should be praised for is convincing his bosses to not fire him when Leicester beat him to the title in the past decade with a worse team...

I think giroud has come in clutch on many instances. Wenger should be praised for sticking with all his players like he always has.

Giroud is a Sevilla level striker (actually Sevilla wouldn't want him because he is slow and they play counter).
